Actually, I think Rafer's confidence will be back after last game!

 

My son and I were at that game. He says that was the best basketball game he has ever seen in his life!

 

Do you guy sense dissension on this team? Yao speaking out ... TMac being frustrated with his teammates play during the games and calling a timeout ... Francis being benched. Winning covers up a lot of things, but losing exposes them.

 

must win, only because a loss to this sixer's squad would justify all the subsequent doomsday threads.......

I don't see dissension. What I see is that when the Rockets start playing poorly for a stretch the captain of the ship (that would be Adelman) doesn't do jack to change it. He just sort of sits there. IMO when the players start showing frustration and the offense bogs down or the defense lapses the coach needs to regroup the guys. Haven't seen much of that...

So far RA is reminding me of Jack Pardee. When something bad used to happen Pardee would just wave his hand in a circle (ahh, those painful Oiler memories...)

What really got me about yesterdays game was our complete inability to break the double and triple teams thrown at Yao. They kinda trapped with different players each time, what Bull termed a "junk defense" and Yao was completely frozen under the basket. If Yao doesn't figure this out he is in big trouble cuz every team with an undersized center (read everyone but Miami) is going to do this to us.

What I don't see from this team is an ability to make adjustments within the offense when the defense adjusts defensive schemes. That's when the offense looks terrible, stagnant usually leading to turnovers or bad shots.

Until thet figure this out every night is a crap shoot.

 

What I see is a complete lack of focus and confidence. When we run the primary offense and we hit shots we coast. When other teams clamp down defensively we get stagnant, and we don't do a good job on defense anymore.

Dissention? They should be upset.

 

Yao didn't have any probelms in the first half and doesn't have any problems in general when they move the basketball from side to side whcih they always do after a bad loss and then come back like Yao said after a good win and start getting relaxed and comfortable. The problem is too much isolation,Too many jumpers early in the shot clock and not enough ball movement.When you move the basketball from side to side they will have trouble throwing all those guys at yao because somebody is open and when we play well scola is always the one who benefits, But for some strange reason he didn't get to play too much.




When the rockets play bad offensively they normally have a bad defensive game as well. Yesterday's game when Tracy went on his personal crusade they fell apart of offense as well as defense.

 

Is the game going to be televised by Fox Sports South West? The TV guide says Mavs and Knicks, but I don't believe it. I am in Eastern Texas, and Fox SW generally broadcasts Rockets games.

 

Seriously, this is one of those games where even if we shoot 33% from the field, we should (need?) win this game. For the love of God, just win this game.

Steve at the point we have a 14 point lead at one point and a 11 point lead at the half.We didn't execute the same way in the second half and steve francis was a small part of the probelm.

 

Please Rockets, win this one...

it takes real cajones for a francis fan to admit rafer is a better pure PG than him. i salute u
