R2K, you are really the greatest. During the season, probably the #1 thing i look forward to every day is downloading your highlights. Thanks, a million times.
just got through watching it on tivo... all the new guys looked good... just wanted to say i was most impressed with juwan howard. after battling through what he did and coming back, he looks almost exactly like he did when we were on fire last season. he nails the mid-range jumper, he gets rebounds, and he plays with intelligence. yao had a quiet 19 but he could have had an easy 30 tonight if it was the regular season. along with a couple nice passes from skip he looked agressive and was quick to make his move. this was just preseason game 1, wait till he gets his timing down, particularly with tracy.
For all that, when I peeked in to see the TV broadcast -- I was mainly listening to 610 -- Wesley was soaked with sweat. Seriously... he looked like he'd just been dunked at a carnival. I've a feeling that Wesley's contributions are measured more in mop strokes than anything else.
It was on Ch. 51 and NBATV. Can't get much easier access than that, short of them playing the game in your front yard.
You recall incorrectly. If you're able to upload it to yousendit, I'd appreciate it.
I was impressed with some of the new guys, but am going to give Mooch some props. He didn't look that bad. 2 TO's in 22 minutes is definately an improvement for Mooch. BENCH MIN FGM-A 3PM-A FTM-A OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF PTS Moochie Norris, PG 22 4-7 0-1 1-1 1 4 5 2 1 1 2 3 9
Two players stuck out in my mind most in this game HEAD WOW, I thought given we know what most of our other player can do Head looked great for his first game.. I like how he was taking a page out of AIs book and taking it to the rack a few times on him.. I really like his quick hands for getting steals, I haven’t seen a guy try to pick so many pockets like him since Clyde was here. I don’t want to get crazy it's only one game, but it's gonna be easy becoming a Head fan this year.. BAXTER He had a great game IMO, he reminds me of Kevin Willis on the boards and Othela on offence, good combo in my mind.. I really hope he can work in a few mins a game this year because he has that dirty get the job done type of Ryan Bowen style that JVG likes so much.. I like players that while in the game look like they're on speed and run all around some what under control.. GREAT GAME-minus Stro- I have to admit, that's what I wanted to see most though.. BRING IT STEVE, YOU'RE GONNA GET A LITTLE TASE OF HEAD TONIGHT, and I'm not talkin 'bout Cuttino!!
did anderson have a perfect game. according to the stats he shot 4-4 for fg and 5-5 for ft. hope he keeps that way.
We all talk about our new rosters, here I want to give some pro to JVG. Look at our ball movment, and last season we beat Sun and Mav in their way. I have to say, Jeff can coach O too. Go ROCKETS. Can not wait to watch these great guys play together.
Juwan Howard: Have some of you completely forgotten how well JH was playing when he got injured? He didn't look any quicker or better last night, you're just not giving him enough credit. After he got injured, JH was like the forgotten man. Don't be surprised if he is the starter for a good portion of the season. He is savvy, smart, plays in the flow of our offense, passes well and is a decent rebounder. If injuries don't come into play, I'm quite comfortable with JH as a starter again this year. Don't assume Swift will push him out of the way immediately. However, if Swift is good enough to do that, great for the team. David Wesley: He had a bad shooting game in our 1st preseason game. So what? He's not trade bait yet. With fewer minutes and a healed knee, I expect him to be effective when he's on the floor this year. Even though he's a year older, his offensive efficiency should be better this year assuming his minutes decrease from 35 mpg to ~ 20-25 mpg. He still may get traded if we have too many healthy backcourt players.
I know this question probably doesn't belong here, but I was wondering if any of you can help me with a torrent problem I'm having... I keep getting the error message "problem connecting to tracker"...any of you know of solutions to this problem?
There were so many positives in this game it's crazy... J-Ho hasn't lost a step and is visibly eager/apreciative of being able to play again after his injury. He was doing a little bit of everything.. 18fters, rebounding, drawing charge, diving for loose balls, rotating on D as fast as his legs could move, was an inside force on offense on a few plays... Oh my Wow! The only negatives that really stuck out were Wesley's horrid shooting and the understandable preseason rust/turnovers.. im sure JVG was satisfied but of course he only looks at what he needs the team to do better... which is excelente.

unfortunately, it won't change. Two different signal sources, one traveling fro the tower to your house, the other to a satellite, and back before you receive it. The radio let me know what was going to happen on the tv, though.
Just saw the highlights and I know its a start of things to come...I can't wait until we play the Fagricks up here in Dallas...
