They have been sucking hard since the terrible flight. Perhaps they are still getting over it. Get the players to a team shrink or just bus ride to the next game.

While I understand Jeremy Lin's decision to stick by the people he knows, I find it interesting that the Rockets don't have a shooting coach work with Jeremy. Jeremy's current shooting coach is quite focused on coaching his Pinewood girls team so probably doesn't have a ton of time to talk to Jeremy.

As an FYI, here's an article with some insight to Jeremy Lin:

    http://theclassical.org/articles/project-lin

I know the guy mentioned in the article (Rich Twu). I played in one of his adult leagues back in 2005 and also attended the Harvard / Santa Clara game during Jeremy Lin's senior season at Harvard.

If you read the article, you'll see what makes Jeremy Lin tick....he does it his own way.

Yeah opponents seems to packed the paint now. You see constantly 2-3 guys just swarming Lin or Harden when they drive. I think having a good pf or center that can finish or post a bit would relief the pressure instead of just throwing it back out and taking a 3pter.

Yes I agree his 3 point shooting is woeful. But look at the difference in how he was shooting 3's last year vs this year. 88% of his 3's are assisted vs 58% last year. That is huge. Lin is a much better shooter from deep off the dribble than he is off the catch. This extends back to his time in GSW & the D-league & in College. Rockets should exploit this.

I don't see getting a real PF can make much improvement. Pau Gasol doesn't know how to play in LA now. Any real PF we trade in could be in a similar situation like Pau in LA.

Not opposed to post play as long as your team is constructed that way.

The problem is, both Harden AND Lin rely heavily on dribble penetration. If you had players like Kobe or Melo, having a post up 4 to clog the paint doesn't hurt you much.

If your offense is built around dribble penetration (Harden, Westbrook, CP3, etc), you really want stretch 4's. If you load up on post players, you might as well try to trade Harden and Lin as you'll completely clog the lanes.

A Post up 4 without an outside shot means they won't be defended from the outside, defenders will sag off like crazy, and they'll move out to double Harden without fear as the distance to switch becomes very short.

Ideally what we want is an excellent stretch 4, or a very good tweener who can post solidly and shoot the perimeter solidly (double threat). A pure post 4 I think would be the worst possible fit with Harden (and Lin).

Ironically Morey said a good PF isn't really necessary because they will "clog the paint" for our guards to penetrate. He better be bullsh-tting and working on a trade right now!
The absence of a real post threat is more evident by each game we struggle in.

No wonder shoots like a girl :D. I kid, kid.

I remember hearing Derrick Rose worked on his shooting over the summer and I believed he became a better shooter. I wonder if there are other players that got worst besides Lin? o_O

I like Josh Smith :D. Blocks, rebounds, strong finisher, and runs the floor well. Heck shoots the same percentage as Patpat at the 3pt line :D. .338

We need one of them to come fix Lin's shot if the coach is not available.

The fact that we have to be a "running team" just means we suck in halfcourt offense as shown. Run n gun wont win playoff games with our teams lack of depth and inconsistent shooting

pretty much, pau should be playing center at this point in his career, he has an excellent post game, terrible beyond 10-15 feet, he may have been soft 6-7 years ago, but there's no real centers left, lol.

Griffin has a respectable jump shot. He doesn't always stand at the elbow waiting for an inlet pass like Kobe/Melo. Not to mention he's a great slasher/finisher.

I consider Griffin more of a Tweener than a pure post up forward.

And Jordan is a C... he's supposed to be clogging up the paint. :p

HOU on 4th game in 5 nights on the road vs. Philly team coming off 2 days rest. No surprise which team looked tired tonight.

Good thing about Clipper game? HOU will have 2 days rest while LAC will be on the back end of B2B. Still tough, but better than the reverse. Rest does matter in the NBA, as does home vs. road.

I am tired of hearing "clog the paint" or "small balls". While certain things work better against certain teams, you can drift too far away from the fundamentals of basket ball, i.e. to connect the quickness of guards to the efficient finishing of the bigs, through PnR.
