wow we have 6 assists and 7 TO's great assist to TO ratio we got right here.

Im not watching this game whats our ball movement like and why does Yao only have 4 pts? Is he not being assertive? 4pts and 2 rebs? WTH?

Our defense sux so bad this year than last

we allow open shots all over the place

Nobody knows how to pass to low post while Yao is getting twisted all over the place.

Can you blame the guys for not getting the ball to him?

Jeez at this rate we will be sub 500 for 2 months or more until this team knows how to play together.

like i've said time and time again, our PG's are terrible. The one thing they're supposed to do is come in and run the offense, cut down on TO and get yao and t-mac the ball.

ward sucks. lue sucks. we dont' go anywhere unless we get a better PG. Even LA had derek fisher and he's better than our PGs.

Anybody have a solution to the only defense that can stop Yao? (fronting).

    JVG doesn't...

the problem this noght we CAN'T get the ball to him

50/50 team fault and Yao fault for not getting good low position.

They are fronting him like mad.

Fronting defenses have essentially eliminated Yao from the offense. Defenses have figured out how to deny the pass into Yao with an agressive fronting defender combined with weakside defenders who are cheating over to prevent the lob. I've always thought JVG's imagination on offense is horrid. The fact that he is trying to force the issue is just absurd. I see no scheme of JVG that has worked consistently. The bench is playing well because JVG is not tightly controlling the action. The bench is playing much looser and to their strengths.

Front Yao? High screen (for McGrady), roll, drive, then pass....open 18ft shot for Yao.

Man I hope that's the case, we look completely lost when Yao comes in

This team's passing to yao is worst than last year's makeup

but I will give them time but so far it looks really horrible.

The PG problem that everyone complained about last year on this board was never solved.

We got T-mac which id great but we totally lost focus of the need for that superd PG that we were begging for to run the offense. Without that key component we scrample around trying to pass at the feet of our center and getting turnover after turnover.

Yao's feet are like lead bricks which allows the fronting defender to adjust before Yao can get a clear passing lane from the passer to him.

This is why Yao's lack of a jumpshot is killing this the team on offense when he is in there. He cannot get the pass down low due to quick fronting defenders. He then goes out to the perimeter to set screens. He might get the ball back, but he passes it away. It's because he knows he is going to brick it. Anyone who is proficient at the jumpshot should take it. Yao is passing up jumpshots as if he thinks he is Cato which he looks like now.

18ft jumpshot for Yao now is like a shot from the half-court. If it's his elbow hurting him, he should just go rest it a few games.

patlabor1, the "PG problem" was three fold:

    1) Turnover prone
    2) We lost a scoring PG, not a passing PG
    3) A 6'3" turnover prone PG made it even harder for him to pass it to Yao, much less having a 6'9" McGrady.

Thus, McGrady is worth the loss PG; we'll pick a new PG up eventually through trade/FA

Anyone saw Sabonis when he played with the Blazers? Sabonis had range out to 3 point land. The guy was arthritic and rickety, but he could shoot a 3 pointer. That makes a big difference in affecting the opposing defense.

He passes it away becus that's not his high percentage shot.

When he does get the ball back he is near the bloody arc, no way the team or him would want him to take a long range shot like that.

The probelm on the first pass attempt to him on the low post is about timing.

Ward heistates for a second by that time the defender had time to twist him( Yao) around to the side and that's when freeking Ward passes to him with the resulting turnover.
