    Here here Kenny, you hit the nail on the head! And happyricky, I know exactly how you feel...if there gonna call those biased calls against Yao, then I feel like Yao needs to send somebody to the hospital then to get his point across.

    Good post. I think this is also why he falls down alot as well as he feels that is the only way he will get a foul call against someone else. And it could explain why Yao does better against Shaq as they let these two huge guys just play.

    Shaq=Aggressor
    Yao's opponents=Aggressors

    The way I see it is that once Yao becomes the aggressor he will get calls, right now everything he does looks like a retaliation instead of an attack so he gets the fouls. If you think Shaq gets calls just because he's Shaq that's fine, but I think he gets them because he intimidates and he's attacking all game long.

    BTW, do you guys know if there is any difference on the price of sending a player than send a ref to the hospital? :D

    Judging from the first two games of the season, whenever Yao tried to be aggressive, he ended up with an offensive foul.

    Remember that laughable call when he made a basket against Ben Wallace? The ref said that he raised his left elbow (too much). Then yesterday, they called an offensive foul on him on the first play.

    The problem is that Yao did (Shaq does it all the time) most of these things last season, and was rarely called by the refs. And again I have yet to see a player singled out so many times by referees when he does not even have the ball!

    Put yourself in Yao's shoes. How can you be aggressive when you risk the chance of being fouled out within the first 5 minutes of the game?!:mad:

    And BTW, if Yao, JVG, or the Rockets does not figure out how to avoid the ridiculous offensive fouls, the Rockets's season is over.

    If I was Yao, I'd say "Screw it." and play like a demon and force the refs to foul me out in the first quarter every game. While I'm at it, I'd run over everyone in my way to prove my point.

    I've said it before and I'll saying again, Hakeem went through the same crap early on his career (read his book). His answer was to F*ck ppl up, once ppl got scared, the calls starts to go his way.

    I get your point, but the refs are humans. Like it, or not, they make their calls based on the players/team styles. They cannot call those offensive fouls on Shaq because if they do, he would be out of the ball game within 5 minutes. Yao has a reputation of being "soft", so if he doing anything out side of that "soft" style, the refs are going to call a foul.

    The other part is the impact to the opponent players by his style. You don't see people challenge Shaq much, because player knows that he is risk of his career if he do; it's a different story with Yao, the opponent players take it as an enjoyment to challenge him, to dunk over him. It doesn't matter how good a shot blocker you are, you'll be fouled out of the game if the small players repeatly challenge you, because they are quicker. Yao needs to knock down people a couple times, so whoever comes in next would have to think twice. Right now, that isn't happening.

    Yup. We are saying the same stuff as last year. He still only does it 1 game out of 5.

    It's sad and worrying that Yao could only score with Woods mostly on the bench. Quicker players will continue to front him or double team and get the ball into his hands but he needs to make his move quickly once he gets position on the low block and use force whenever he has a chance.
