Jason Terry? I heard he's on the bench in Dallas in favor of rook Devin Harris.

Try it. We did in the preseason. He did good.

Yep. Need some long-armed athletic types....like Bosh! ;)

No Doctor, you are definitely NOT an idiot. You just took one too many swigs of Rockets red koolaid that's all. But like yourself, I am mystified as to why this team looks so disjointed and lifeless at times. Tonight they were simply out played and I really hate to admit this but T-Mac is playing like he did last year at Orlando. JVG's KnickBall offense simply ain't working and if things don't change soon, it's gonna get real ugly in Rocketland.

BTW, I'm watching the Mavs dismantle the Hornets and they certainly don't look 1/4 as bad as the Rockets even though they also are working in a bunch of new players.

*sigh* i got off early from work for this? I'm trying hard not to over react, i know its real early, but the mistakes i see don't look like team chemistry problems at all.. yao's turnovers had nothing to do really with anyone else other than himself, missed wide open shots have nothing to do with team chemistry, if it has something to do with team chemistry (getting the ball where they like it) then it sure didn't look like that was the problem. I see problems where infamiliarity looked to be a facotr but that wasn't the majority. I see slow reactions, just slow movements. Our team is undersized and SLOW, usually if you are undersized you have the quickness edge.. our guys are small and slow. It's very frustrating to watch this team now, I hope we can get it going soon. I feel sorry for T-mac.

    My...... God.......

has anyone looked at our schedule besides me?

    Memphis

    Sacramento

    Memphis

    Minnesota

    L.A. (unfortunately not the clippers)

Sigh... I know I'm letting the first two games consume my thinking entirely.

However, how in the hell are we going to win even 2 out of these next 5?

    How???

I guess something will give soon. I'm all for the whole give them time concept. However, giving them time to gel I think should include actually WINNING some games and not losing games while gelling.

How? Improve each game. Simple. Does that get you 5-0, the next five? Not necessarily. But that's not what we should be looking for now.

On a positive note, we were not blown out of either game and battled back to make it close.

Our time will come, but we really really need Sura back and a PF that can spread the floor.

Excellent analysis Da. I couldn't have put it any better but I don't feel that Sura coming off major back surgery will be the answer. This team is loaded with age and is dreadfully slow and the blame should fall squarely on dawson and the front office for assembling this crew. At this point, there's precious little that can be done to improve the personnel. It may very well get much worse before it gets any better.

Sacramento Kings will also be 0-2 soon!
I'd say for the first quarter of the season, Rox will be on par with the Kings.

I think we are going to beat Memphis. Yao finally started playing in the 3rd quarter. It looked like JVG did away with all those screens for a little while and just sent Yao to the low block and told everybody to throw it to him. That is all he needs. Just let him post up, get him the rock, and watch this thing unfold. I predict we hammer Memphis and Yao goes off for 20+, and opens the floor up for TMac and JJ.

Exactly! There is some semblance of order. But it's just rusty right now. McGrady has yet to establish his game/role on this team. And Yao is playing wimpy, right now.

Toronto is a overachieving team. They just had their home opener and they are playing like it's the championship. Plus, they have a lot of athletic players that can give them some cheap wins.

Especially since our team right now is trying to find it's identity. And Yao struggles against those type of players (Najara).

from now on i will track the positives and improvements in each game, i don't like this feeling of negativity, the losses last year didn't feel like this.

I think everybody is overreacting primarily because... of the teams that are supposed to look good, we're the only ones who look bad.

Even the ones with big changes have looked impressive... Shaq in Miami, Nash in Phoenix, and the Orlando Magic.

Our time will come... its just always nice to start the season off on a high note... but as I said, its better to get this mess out of the way earlier rather than later.

If teams are going to front Yao, then JVG needs to bring him to the high post and use him to hit that little 15 ft jump shot or to pass to cutters.

More variety on offense means defenses have to be more honest.

Also, Yao needs to get wider down there, spread out more to make it impossible for his defenders to slip around him, he is playing too skinny.

Yao needs to borrow Barkley's A$$.

    :)

It's an embarrassment *thing* for some fans here. They are worried we are not living up to high expectations. But we'll get there. Just get better each game.

    Yep
