Trade Yao? No way! He'll ONLY get better if we ever get a better all-around team. 2 (so-called) weapons is not enough.

    We're too thin & slow. We're again a .500 club.

How anyone picked this team as a west contender is beyond me.

JVG has really got to change things or go. I'm becoming very convinced that he is an incompetent coach who can not be successful, especially in the western conference. It's hard to win when your coach doesn't know wtf he's doing

Ugh. It's tough to take a loss especially to a worse team. I know this team needs time to gel, but hopefully we can get some nice wins in the process.

And McGrady will hit plenty of those for us. I'd rather start slowly, and finish strong.

    Each game...just improve.

What's funny is that the Raptors were all giddy like they just won the championship; home openers will do that.

    Come on man...

I'll tell you what...talk to me at game 41. I feel a lot better about these two loses than I did about our first two wins last year.

We shot .465 (team) and had 15 TO. Some of our players are just not getting it done right now (Yao!!!!! ). Six TO from Yao!

I am so puzzled whther it was Mcgrady's decision or JVG but why
did he dissappear for the 2nd?

they should have fed him the ball all the way. he was the only guy hot tonight.

    Just weird.

This was so painful to watch. Yao has 6 turnovers against a horrible center. The actual number of turnovers he had tonight must be more like 14.... if you include:

    - bobbled rebounds (5 times?)
    - times that he had position and timed his jump perfectly for a block but just swiped at air (3 times?)

I was pretty excited before the season started because of McGrady, but suddenly I find my interest completely extinguished. The team looked lifeless. Am I an idiot for setting my expectations high?

    Our offense looks like...crap.

This team has no identity now. They don't know what they want to do out there.

The team has some open dates to work on this stuff. Challenges like these make or break teams - hopefully this team has enough character to work through them and come out much stronger for it - it'll make a big difference in the playoffs. It's a new season with new players, and I am sure that they will put it together. Go Rockets!

I dont like the offense one bit at the moment but iam not going to be getting all worried when it has only been 2 games and we have 50% new players on our team.

Im gonig to have to bare with it and go with the flow...after a month of so then i can say if i am worring or not....that's when we start ranting and raving...

I still say it's too early to go crazy and want to trade our team away or ask for changes.

Problems with this team, as I see them.

First let me say it is early, and I feel the team will not really be at it's peak until Sura gets back and they have time to play together.

However, after watching the first 2 games here are some of the major issues to fix.

    1. (problem) PG play, our PGs are not doing a very good job of getting the ball moving or to Yao in time to get the inside/out offense working. Also, neither one of them seem to be the type of real PG that Yao and Tmac could benefit from.
(solution) Get Sura healthy and fast, this team needs someone that can control the tempo, make a good entry pass, and push the ball and get some early offense.

    2. (problem) Neither Mo Taylor, nor J. Howard fit very well with Ming on the low post. We need a PF like Horry that can spread the defense out, our spacing is horrible right now and we are making it far too easy for the other team to double team Yao.
(solution) Padgett - He may be a better fit, as he can hustle, does not try to post up and can shoot the 3 point shot better. Also it allows Mo to be the main scorer with the 2nd team, something we desperatly need.

    3. (problem) Lack of quickness all over the floor. Mo Taylor, Yao Ming, Charlie Ward and Jimmy Jackson are all going to be slower than the person they are guarding most every night. We have a significant lack of footspeed on this team, and those with quicks are not good enough to start.
(solution) more zone defense, it would allow the Rockets to close down many holes and it hides people with average footspeed.

    4. (problem) chemistry, it is clear these guys are not used to playing together, and it is showing on offense and defense.
(solution) patience and more time to allow them to jell, it does not help that we opened up on the road against one great team, and one young team that has a dynamic PG to set the table.

Don't panic, we will get there, but I think we need to get a PG who is more of an athlete (sura) and a PF who can spread the floor ( Padget), and play more zone.

    Just my .02.

Biggest mistake of the season so far... going to china.

Set us back big-time (that will be the scapegoat).

It wasn't the loss that got to me, it was how they lost. They didn't look bad, they looked incompetant. I'm normally not one to overreact.

I had a horrible day before the game even started. I'll just wait and watch the next one.... but would someone please hit the floor going after a loose ball? Anything to get me interested?

    No kidding....lol

When the game ended I was thinking at least the Texans are playing Sunday and I was happy. Then I checked the schedule and noticed it was a 3 o'clock kick off. That's 3 more hours I have to wait.
