yea Yao has potential but we can get some good trades for him, tmac is in a slump so we can trade him too, JVG shuold be fired his incompetent im pretty sure any one of us could easily do a better job then him his horrible, bonzi has attitude problems trade him. Battier has done pretty well, probably has increased his value, we could get some good talent for him, head and snyder are underperforming and packaged off with useless old juwan we could get some quality players into this team. Alston is a useless PG, Vspan is much more capable and can take over straight away, trade skip for a decent PG, with all this trades maybe we can get lebron, dwade or kobe, imagine that, we could win then because all those team made playoffs. WOW this sounds like a good idea lets do it!

^^ according to the "true Rockets fans" here, major personnell moves must be made after every loss and every game where they don't win by at least 10.

Van Gundy should have been fired after the Utah game. Adelman would be hired and then fired right after the loss to New Orleans, replaced by Isiah Thomas (who got fired by the Knicks after their first loss) and fired right after his first loss as a Rocket.

Great said from a "solid, loyal, and unbelivable" Rocket fan. Trade Yao to Lakers for some good deal. You are really smoking after this loss.

Very frustrating game last nite. It shows that the Rockets can play anywhere and with anybody. This fourth quarter shooting is starting to worry me. Good teams should improve late in the game, not wilt away. That being said, if someone would have offered me 6-4 after the first ten games, I think I would have taken after looking at the schedule and especially after the way the Rockets have started the last two years.

On a side note, both JVG and Bonzi need to grow up and put whatever they have aside. The Rockets deperately need Bonzi Wells in the rotation. We have been given a glimpse of how good this team can be, now it is time to get on a roll.

Just watched the recording of the game. Mmm Boy... I'll add my observations which I'm sure have been repeated many times:
FIRE VAN GUNDY! PLAY V-SPAN AND BONZI!! (Ha, I wish solutions were so simple, anyways)

    - McGrady played just a great first half. Drives to the basket at will against an excellent defender in Tayshaun, outside shots swishing in. When he sank the 45 footer after time expired ended I thought that was a sign that its his and the Rockets night, but it wasnt to be....

    - The first time he was substitued for after his hot start, the expression on his face was fretted and almost pouty, as though he was mourning the loss of Bo Schembechler or something :( . Talks of lack of mental toughness might can start there

    - The refs decided it was a good night to read the rule book on traveling calls and had Yao be the focus on what to do and what not to do. Still no matter what kind of stats are put up, when a player has more turnovers by himself than the other team combined that's generally not a good thing.

    - Detroit is a real all around NBA team. Gonna need more than 2 good guys against that sometimes. Another legit talent who can score along with one of the others, or a couple other guys who can create a bit of offense on their own instead of relying on being 'set-up' to get theirs. Sometimes you just gotta focus on scoring instead of D'ing. And show some URGENCY late in the game on offense when you're behind by 10.

    - Latest guard off the bench with decent game against Rockets: Flip Murray: 4-5 shooting 3 Rbs 2 Assts 1 stl.
Not that he was the difference but its been something I been looking at. Besides Chucky Atkins, guards off the bench must be shooting 70% against the Rox this year. And of course the starters. Rafer shouldnt be expected to contend with Billups but Rafer didnt do ANYTHING. Billups scored on Snyder and everyone but.... rrrgh I'm done.

JVG's contract is getting in the way of the team.

I think it would have helped if Juwan and Padge of honor could have hit a shot last night. There are going to be bad nights of shooting for any team. It just sucks that both of those guys had it on the same night, and it was in such a close game.

I am encouraged that Yao and Tracy can both be so dominant. We just need to put it together. It's like this team isn't used to being as good as they are, and they are just learning to play with that ability.

BEST POST so far after this loss. Boy, Zboy is Zzzzz man!

I agree with you 100% on Howard. I also noticed the phenomena, wherever Juan goes, the team will lose. I am not personally against juan. Just remember the proverb: Problem is always a problem.

Play somebody else, you hear me, JVD? No juan, scott, cut Alston's time for next game.

Juwan,. sure. He sucked. But Alston was not even on the court during the collapse. It was Luther Head and Snyder in the backcourt.

The PF position is still our biggest problem, it was as thin as a paper last night. Yao had clutch TOs, if somebody say YAO cost Rockets game last night, he is definitely clueless. YAO has problems, since you can't expect him to fix overnight, a decent or even less decent PF like Hayes is a solid help. If it were another playoff team, I doubt Juwan and Padgett can even enter the roster, it was pathetic to see these two scrubs play total 41 minutes and only contribute 4 points. Bonzi may be a help, not now, so pls give a little chance to Novak, why not, last night it couldn't be worse.

What's worse is, the center position is equally thin. If (god forbid) Yao missed a week or two over a turned ankle, our front court would be:
C - Mutombo backed up by no one
PF - Juwan backed up by Battier and Padgett

That's worse than even the Nets. Signing a (non-finesse) F/C has to be a major priority right now; the Rox are playing with fire with this roster.

All of a sudden, I'm seriously hoping Adonal Foyle gets bought out. For the minimum, that's decent insurance.

But in today league, a center is much harder to be found than a PF, and also easy to get injured. Yao gets another injury? you can't even imagine this, not like many guys have criticized, lacking jumping ability seems to be a nature bless to Yao in this part of the the story.

why are people referring to JuHo as 'JH3?' He's not Juwan Howard III, and his number is 5, not 3. it's like they're mixing his name with JLIII.

    what am i missing?

I could come on this board and give my nitpicking review after each game.

I could come on this board and be sooooo predicatable in my post.

I could! I really could and my post count would be soooo high.

But this is a team I've been following for a VERY long time (Malone days)...through all the ups and downs. And the things I learned about being a fan of a team (especially after the mid-80s and then the mid-90s) is:

-I haven't a clue as to what is going on in a player/coach's head.
-I'm a great coach sitting on my couch
-Season is long (not 2 weeks)
-Don't have the energy to battle daily stats
-Getting sad or happy is alright after a win or loss
-Getting foul mouth and calling for peoples heads after a loss is a complete waste of time
-If I ran my business like some fans knee-jerk reactions I'd be out of business
-I'm a Houston Rocket fan, not a player of the Houston Rocket fan

I'm satisfied. This is going to be a good year for us. Most of the games we watch we will win. And I'm going to be happy a lot because of it.

Do I wish for more...like another championship? Hell yes! But in the end, and compared to other teams, I'm going to be tickled that I'm on my death bed knowing we took home two of those trophys.

    This is a great post.
Well, I apologize here first. I did call a couple of fan names here and I apologize here again. I was hard on YAO and hoped he could single-handed give us a win and I shouldn't say he killed the game although this is Only one of the reasons ROX lost last night, One of the reasons, but not his fault at all. I would be so happy to see he reduce his TO, expecially on the 4th since they looked so bad. I would be excited to see TMAC could take over the 4th and carry the team to elite level.

But some 06 class need aware their language here.

    Peace and go Rockets! :D
