I think if we win this game we'll get more respect.

    hmm....

If TMAC continues his better shooting/driving abilities....and Yao can maintain where he was last week (Knicks, and Heat) then the Rockets will gain a big lead, and WON'T lose it in the 4th.

Other wise, I see a 19pt lead into the 3rd quarter....and then 4pt win for the Rockets.

pistons played tonight so i dont know if they will have as good of legs as the spurs or bulls did in the fourth. but its hard to say. tracy played amazing last year against them. he seems to be extra focused on the players who are known to "lock" him down. the rockets win this game i believe because of yao. If battier can do a decent job on hamiliton then then it should be a game they rockets should win.

    rockets 95 pistons 90

They will not as fast as Bulls tomorrow.

The key is to lock Billups. I think Alston and Head have to complete this mission.

And Yao should beat Mohammed and Wallace at the offense side.

If T-mac starts to take those casual jumpshots in the early fourth quarter (like what he did against spur).....it will be another close game, win or lose all depends on luck.

Based on the observation of last night's Piston-Wizards game, I'd like to chip in my opinion on the keys to the game:

    1) Win the battle of boards

    2) Good perimeter defense

    3) Control the tempo of the game and play well against their zone defense

    4) Strong mentality in the 4th quarter

If the situation gets tough, we need our two superstars to step up. Yao needs to show he can score more efficiently in the final minutes and T-Mac needs to play smart, be the playmaker and let the whole team involve in the offense.

It'd be an extra bonus if we could T up Wallace and have him rejected.

i haven't seen any pistons game this season, are they a jumpshooting team still? or do they go down low with rasheed and mcdyess more often? i know they arent anywhere the 04 pistons defensively, but i'm kinda worried about hamilton or billups going off...

the last 15 minutes of the game, thats what its all about. It doesn't matter if we run to a 50 point lead in the first 30 minutes, what happens in the last 15 will decide the game.

We have to figure out how to close out teams and keep our double digit leads. At the very least we need to figure out how to get Yao going in a game when there is no real threat to gaurd him. Yao needs at least 30 points in this one. Hopefully Tmac can put 2 good games together in a row.

    Good stuff
    My Keys:

    1) Contain Rasheed Wallace. He is the biggest mismatch for the Rockets. He's too quick for Yao. He's too tall for Battier. He's too everything for Jho. Sadly, Jho is the best size matchup the Rox have for Sheed, so Jho really needs to step it up (or hope that Sheed plays dumb, which he totally does every other game). I suspect that if Jho starts to get abused, JVG will try some different approaches to guarding Sheed.

    2) Good Team Defense. This means no brainfarts. Need sustained effort. Need good transition D. Detroit is a talented team, but they also have smarts. They run a lot of cutters, drive the lane when available, and pass well. The Rockets as a team better be ready to move their feet and get in position. Man I wish Hayes wasn't hurt. Also, watch out for Rip Hamilton. They run a bunch of curl screens for him. Yao, Deke, or anyone who is guarding the screen man needs to step out to challenge Rip shooting. But, the defender on Rip needs to be ready to box out Yao/whoever's man and prevent him from sliding to the bucket for the slip pass.

And of course the usual stuff like make 3pters, take good shots etc. A Sheed rejection would be nice also.

We need T-Mac to try and draw a double team. Make Tayshaun get help.

We need Yao to use his size/strength advantage on whoever's guarding him.

But most of all, I think we'll need a team effort here.

Good defense, balanced offense. We need 5-6 players in double figures.
