Check one of the early pages in this thread, I already predicted that he would slow down in the second half (let's be honest, much of it was because he sat down due to foul trouble) after a strong first half.

He's simply not in a 48-minutes conditioning and likely won't be for a while.

This game, however, he was absolutely shut down by Detroit in the 4th quarter...I have to give Detroit's suffocating defense on him (double and triple teams) credit; their game plan worked. Plain and simple.

At the end, way too many turnovers and lots of missed jumpers (wide open, easy jumpers at that) cost us the game.

We're weak-minded squad, that's our biggest weakness after ten games into the season.

not this game. this team, the whole team doesnt have any killer instint. When you watch KOBE, you can feel he plays to win. I dont see any from this team, especially TMAC,no passion at all.

Yao shot 8-18, and the referees protected him all game and got him 20 free throws.....

If not for all those extra free throws, Yao stat line would have been barely noticable.

Yes, this is significant, as it drains him and takes away from his scoring and he isn't a Point Guard as we all know! Where are our back up Point Guards, sorry I forgot, V Span and J.L.111.

    1. JVG needs to play Novak to open up the floor in 4th quarter, and he should play Vspan in 4th quarter since he is much better defender than both Head and Alston.

    2. Yao should shoot more jumpers and hook shots in the 4th quarter because Refs will let a lot fouls go.

    3. Rafer and Head on the court the same time is really bad in all these games.

    4. The unit of Yao, Tmac, Howad, Head and Alston is terrible on defense.

    5. We miss Chuck Hayes badly.

the job of a coach is to make adjustments according to the teams weakness. how many times do the rockets need to loose 2nd half's before it sinks in???

    Hello anybody home????

i' m not gonna say play so ans so because i'm not a coach but something has to happen!!

Juwan Howard would turn turn the 90s Bulls into Toronto Raptors if he played for them.

That's how much influence his scrubiness has.

I am just laughing my @ss off at all those who defend Rafer Alston.

You guys seriously need to watch the game more closely.

This guy makes Kenny Smith look like a 10 time defensive player of the year.

Pass first, shoot second my @ss.

    More like...

Pass here, shoot there, make none.

It's still the stamina problem, Yao has made big progress in his stamina, but still not enough.

we lost the game because we don't have a legit 3rd and fourth scorer like Detroit...

and keeping Tmac and Batt on the bench too long...

cant blame Tmac... he had a great game...

and Yao even though he sucked it up with the turnovers..and low fg %

Someone sends rafer a bag of hamburgers every day so he can become overweighted so we may see some other options at guard.

I'll accept that but, sorry, 7 points in the 2nd half just isn't good enough. Yao morphing into a turnover machine killed us also. Rafer & Juwan played terrible and JVG should have yanked them off the floor. Do we really miss Chuck Hayes that much? I guess so.

It's time for some changes in the substitution pattern. Novak needs some minutes and Juwan needs fewer or none. When Rafer brings his "F" game, V-Span should at least get a look. It's on JVG to make some changes because it ain't working. For Yao to throw a 33/16 smackdown (with 20 FTs) on a team and we lose is completely unacceptable.

    Yao - 8 turnovers - 0 blocks.

He still has some major flaws.

Sorry if they had called all the fouls committed by Detroit Yao could have scored 45pts.

But they stopped calling fouls in 4th quarter. Yao should adjust and rely more on his hook shots and turn around jumpers.

We got enough turnovers, last thing we need is Spanoulis in there giving it away. Bonzi can create his own offense when teams try to shut down 1 and 11. He could have helped us build the lead in the 2nd q when 1 and 11 were on the bench, na din the 3rd q, when Tracy had foul trouble.

I think Bonzi is gonna play real soon...
