Yao is going to be fired up for this game and I predict he will have a stellar performance.

    Yao - 26pts 15 boards

    Rockets - 88
    Pistons - 74

Rox are going to take this one ... 86-78

Rox are in the middle of one of the easiest stetches in the schedule ... If they can pull this game out we could be looking at a 8 game win streak going into the home game against Minnesota.

    Deuce,

Two grind it out defensive teams. But your prediction is WAAAAAAAAAAAY out of line. It will be more like:

    Rox - 17
    Pistons- 14

Fans will opt for minus 15 degree weather outside the arena rather than endure "slug" basketball for 48 minutes.

    :p

Both teams have been playing very good defense, ugly offense. Being it a road game for the Rockets, the result is pretty much decided already.

Btw, I don't recall Yao had two good games against the same team. So I expect both him & him to struggle again tonight.

    Rockets: 78
    Pistons: 83

I think everyone needs to relax.. we have a winning record with SF and Yao (our 2 best players) struggling and have one of the top defenses in the league. Personally I think the rest of the league needs to worry about us. Imagine this.. near the end of the season.

Yao starts to breakout like we all know he is capable of..
SF finds his shots and starts firing in high % shots.

I think most teams in the league would fear facing us in the first round.

Once Yao, and SF start to pick up their game I think we will become an unstoppable force. We are doing well without full production from SF and Yao but we are still close to the top of our division (in terms of record) and playing great defense. Once our Offense begins to roll we will be a monster!

    Who agrees with me?

    J

Go Yao! Go Rox! Go Super Duper Backup Bench Brigade!\

    Rox 112 - Pistons 64

    Yao has 32 pts/ 22 rebs/ 10 blks

im still waiting for a breakout game from Yao!

Ugh, this one is not going to be pretty.. this is still the same team it
    has been all year..

I would LOVE to see the Rockets win this game, but..

    ain't gonna happen..

It will be somewhat close, after the Rockets overcome an early 20-pt
deficit, but we won't seriously threaten, make a belated charge in the
4th, and end up losing steam, and hope, as the Pistons get breakaways
and steals in the final minutes, to win by at least 20.

I hope and pray that this is not the way it turns out, but we have all seen
it happen so many times, especially after playing well in games prior to
the big matchups.. it'll be yet another Rockets stinker, which will wash away,
once more, the goodwill built up by teasing us with decent games played
here at home against bad opponents..

    Amen, brother!

Personally I like good defense. But then I'm a basketball fan. I've found almost every game fun to watch. A few have been painful, no doubt.

Yao mvp? Maybe. We'll have to see what happens after the next 40 games or so. I do not doubt that without Yao in the middle we wouldn't be holding teams to at or slightly above franchise lows several times this season.

About Stevie... He's been one of the few players EVER to improve his stats every year. This year he's learning some new things which are going to make him a better point gaurd, a better leader, a better player. These things are going to elevate him to a new level in the coming years. why you would want to trade someone like that I have no idea. This is still the Rockets team of the future, it's just that now the future looks to be next year. I personally am extremely excited.

Everyone is trying to have us pick up a dominant power forward or a new point guard or possibly a shooting guard. I would personally like to see us either get Kevin Garnet or a really good small forward. Totally frees Jackson to come off the bench for whoever... Maybe Dirk and we can put him at small forward.

All player's names mentioned in the last paragraph are there strictly for entertainment purposes... any use of said names or quotes from this thread in order to ridicule the poster are strictly prohibited...

hahaha I think Rox fans want a star at every position. I dont think that is possible in this league unless your the Mavs/ Lakers or T-Wolves.

    They have been quite fortunate...

Im happy with the team we have.. of course I have my up's and down's with them and sometimes I pull my hair out. But we are doing well inconsistent but good enough. If we won 3 tight games (Toronto/ Nuggets/ Sonics) we had be top of the division.. (losing last minute).

I just hope we continue to try and develop Yao and SF.. I know SF is not a rookie but he is in an adjustment period and needs some more time. I honestly believe SF is trying to help this team win and get that monkey (no playoff appearances) off his back..

Depending on where we seed I think the Rox will make some noise in the playoffs.

So until they trade away Yao, SF and Cat the Rox are my team.

    ^^

    Go Team!

Maybe Billups lights up SF and we crush the Pistons convincingly.. so whats the point?

anyways people make this out to be a one on one battle fay to often.. isnt this a team and isnt this why we have something called help defense.

If it was a one on one game I dont think I would even bother to watch.

I'd like to see Cato use the glass more on those close range shots. He needs to make them.
