I disagree. Sure, if he scores 13 a night the rest of the season and the Rockets continue to blow out opponents, that'll take away some votes. But the odds of that happening are slim to none, especially with some tough games coming up in March. He won't be able to coast like he did against the Pelicans. Also regarding the supporting cast, the Thunder just pulled off a pretty damn good trade themselves and got Westbrook some additional help.

Well they added a Lou Williams segment after the Pelicans highlights to the 5am sportscenter. My b****ing pays off. :)

Lou is like our prime Jamal Crawford. It's going to be a good playoff run this year.

Not stretching at all. A coaching tree is like a family tree.

Steve Kerr is under MDA's coaching tree. In fact, it was all they seemed to talk about during their past 2 seasons. That MDA's been vindicated, that he should get some credit for it, etc etc. Luke Walton was Kerr's assistant. If you watch the Lakers play they try to do the same thing.

Kerr never coached with or under MDA. Kerr was the GM in Phoenix for the last couple of years that MDA was there, but that's it.

Waking up and it's still surreal that we just went from 4 points, 2 turnovers, 2 head scratching and 2 bonehead plays Corey brewer to 27 points on 9/16 with 7 3's and smart plays by Lou Williams.

Kerr never coached under anyone, but ask him who has the biggest impact on his coaching. Actually, just look for what Kerr has said about MDA. There are many quotes. Not hard to find.

If you just look at how the Warriors play offense compared to the Suns it is the same thing. The main thing that separated GSW from those Suns is that GSW is elite defensively.

Sure, it's just that typically a "coaching tree" is guys that actually coached under one guy and then went on to become HC's under that. I wouldn't really say Kerr is in his coaching tree, just heavily influenced by the style. Just semantics really.

You are right, I do think we should make an exception for guys like Kerr who get handed these jobs and have never coached before...seems like that's a trend nowadays. Kerr is like the adopted son I guess you can say.

5 years ago didn't Nene have cancer? LOL

Anyway I'm happy with old man Nene, prime Nene would have cost the max at least now we have him on the team at a very steep discount.

Ha, I most certainly am not doing that. Just saying we should hold on to the #3 seed at least if we bring that effort every night, even against teams better than the Pelicans.

The Rockets have shown they can tighten up on defense when they put their minds to it. The whole team was made aware that they were going against the best center and PF in the entire organization, so there was quite a bit of swarming defense when either AD or Cousins got the ball, and while their star players got theirs, it was mostly inconsequential to the outcome of the game. Our guys were really focused on d.

For the remaining 23 games, there should be no excuse not to play defense like that, as the roster is deep enough to give players plenty of rest. That depth is most likely to increase in the coming days or weeks with the expected buyouts from other teams.

Lastly, the game yesterday was so enjoyable to watch!

It's just one game but WOW, the Pelicans are absolutely awful. They might be the new laughing stock. Meanwhile the Kings won't miss Cousins if Willie-Cauley Stein continues to beast. That Kings trade may not end up looking that bad if the Pels miss the playoffs.
