Morey still has not figured out that size matters!! No disrespect to Adrien, Dorsey & Black but all 3 are heavily undersized. Based on that alone, I would feel more comfortable with D-Mo out there. We are going to get killed on the boards again this year, very worrisome...I have less faith in TJ than ever before as well. It's time for Morey to his job and McHale as well.

I think it's pretty obvious that Morey values 6'9" guys who can play over 7 footers who can't. I think he learned that lesson the hard way with Thabeet.

We gave up a lot of offensive rebounds that resulted in 2nd chance points, which is why our defense suffered. Take Asik away and replace them with Adrien / Black / Dorsey and you best believe we will give up even more.

If they were 6'9 it would be not that big of a deal, but Adrien and Black are 6'6 / 6'7. Dorsey might be 6'8 but he plays small.

Adrien is 6'7, Black is 6'9 not 6'6 ... Chuck Hayes was 6'5.9

NBA measurements...Black is definitely not 6'9, look at him next to TJ who is listed 6'9.

Black is an inch shorter than TJones, per predraft measurements. That's not a big deal, especially since he plays bigger than TJones does with his rebounding and blocked shots.

Yep, Black is strongly built too. I definitely think he should make the final roster.
Not sure if the Rockets are going to do that though.

    Black is our backup C.
He is getting minutes game 1. Or at least he should.

There's no ifs ands or buts anymore about whether he is making this team.

It might take McHale a few games (ok it's McHale... maybe the ASW) before he gets fed up with D-Mo's weak play at the 5 defensively and on the boards.

Dorsey is not contributing to this team.

I needed 5 minutes watching Black and 5 minutes watching Dorsey to realise this.

Black is contributing in hustle, defense and rebounds. Players tend not to have slumps in those categories - especially if they're trying to forge a career and realise that's what they need to rely on. Let's not overlook the fact he has the P'n'R screen as his number 1 offensive move.

His play in the pre-season is going to translate over to regular season and going against normal rotation NBA players because of this.

Now in no way am I saying we won't notice a difference between Asik coming in to spell Dwight - to Tariq doing it... But I can tell Black is going to get some recognition around the league this season.

We need to give a crash course to Clint Capela. I don't need him to play vs the Davises of the league, only against the Ajincas.

Of course Morey knows size matters. Why do you think he acquired Asik? Morey would have loved to keep him if it had been possible.
