and why would media backlash if he fires Silas?

 

Hes pretty universally loved by the basketball community from what I can tell. Maybe because his dad's reputation and his general friendly demeanor. You the most popular nba player in Luka saying they better not fire him.

 

What media? Local media doesnt even mention the rockets

 

Whether it’s now or later, all the usual talking points will go out.

“Came here to coach Harden/Westbrook”
“Never got a fair shot”
“Rockets set him up to fail”
“No other coach could succeed there”
“He coached LeBron, Stephen Curry & Luka. He didn’t forget how to coach.”
(and yes, wait for it, at least one talking head will say it, perhaps JVG) “I thought he did a really solid job under the circumstances.”

Luka has a rooting interest in keeping him in place. He probably has a scoring champ bonus in his contract. Once opposing players start giving your coach votes of confidence, it’s time to move on.

Alot of national media coverage was given to Silas when his father passed. Many stated what a great guy Silas Sr was and there warm feelings towards Stephen Silas. I dont think they would take it well if and when he gets fired, especially on a rebuild team. Obviously it's just speculation and only time will tell. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Silas needs an allstar team just not to finish the last in nba...
Imagine if we didnt have sengun, people would be clamoring for stone to draft or trade for players like sengun or jokic that are an entire offensive system unto themselves, to help silas win more and dont need a lot of x and os just give them the ball and tell others to screen or cut...

Not arguing with that which is why I suggested before the game that a brawl needed to happen. It's the only way to make officials call things both ways.
I saw 2 elbow shivers by Jonas defending Sengun, a couple of more when Garuba was defending Jonas that should have been offensive fouls. And every single time Green would go to the basket. I hear he should continue to put on weight. It's not going to change if they allow the defense to bump him at will while calling nit picky fouls on the other end. It's annoying. Could be just karma from the Harden years. still annoying though.

 

Devin Booker looked like trash until CP3 arrived. Not trash necessarily but never winning anything by a large margin.

Jabari Smith Jr just yelled at John Lucas to “Take his ass out!” in reference to Alperen Sengun after a defensive possession. Yikes.

by the way, I'm putting Jabari Smith Jr on the dumb list

 

so Jabari plays here for 3 months and he already had beef with Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun. Bro is Tari Eason beef away from serious backlash

 

Jabari needs to be able to make some wide open threes if he wants to bark at others and command respect on the court.
