Wishful thinking is what you guys are doing regarding Trevor becomming Marion lite.

Marion came INTO the league playing like that....Trevor is what he is.....a long, gangly, athletic guy, who can't dribble, can't shoot, gets a few steals, and is a 20mpg player TOPS.

And we are stuck with him for 4 more years at $6 million a year.

I love Morey, but signing Shandon Anderson part 2 was his worst move...maybe he can correct it by jettising him in the offseason in a trade.

Too bad he is letting his success get to his head. I think he subconciously thinks he is better than all of his teammates and thinks he doesn't have to defer to him as much.

Winning a championship makes some players work harder and make them more hungrier to better their game, others, when they win a ring, they become lackadaisical and think they can coast throughout the season. Case in point, Ariza hasn't worked on bettering any part of his game in the offseason.

Like DD said, not many players in the NBA can be thaught how to dribble a ball, it comes naturally to them.

The Lakers knew what they were giving up and there is a reason why they didn't try to keep him at all costs like they did to Odom. He had one 13 point outburst in the Finals and everybody overrated him.

We got ripped off big time and to date, this is Morey's only and biggest mistake.

And you really can't compare Ariza's game to Marion. Marion knows how to dribble the ball. Marion is more like Tayshaun Prince.

We need to trade Ariza as soon ASAP because this is when his stock is at an all time high. Weren't the Raptors interested in him? Maybe we can work out a sign and trade with him in involved for a certain 7 foot Power Foward who's contract expires this season?

Download the game and look at our big men's defense. SuperScola and SuperChuck with their mistakes and 0 intimidating presence.

....You do know that Roy Hibbert is not a scrub center, correct? He's actually been okay for the Pacers.

    Yeah, and?

I agree with that....but that has nothing to do with Trevor exposing the lane over and over again by reaching.

He even reaches late...the guy loses his man by peaking at the ball all danged game.

Sorry, Trevor as a defensive specialist is LAUGH OUT LOUD funny.

I think DD is a little too hard on Trevor, as he has some value, but I agree with DD that he is not starter material. He's a bench guy at best.

Wishful thinking is also the high praise many put on Chase this year also.

Thing is Trevor has done those things when you don't ask him to be a 2nd or 3rd option.

He's proven that. Next year if he starts he will be the 5th option. A damn good one considering his talents on the court, and his gambling won't be worried about too much with a healthy frontline of Yao and whoever else. Arize gambles on the Lakers and it goes right to Gasol or Bynum.

He gambles here and it goes to Hayes and Scola....big difference.

Chase, is a better offensive player, and is about the same on defense, minus the steals.

He may start next year, but Battier is a better option because he is much smarter and plays good team defense.

Trevor and Battier together are a joke, we only need one.

And BTW, Chase, in his ROOKIE year, is performing better than Trevor in his 5th year.....

And there is NO wishful thinking extrapolating out....wishful is hoping someone suddenly becomes something they are not, or are capable of being.

Didn't we sign him with the Disabled Player's insurance that we got from Yao?

I might sound dumb, but did we even use the MLE this past offseason? Who did we use it on?

I think Morey got him to trade him later. I think his plan somewhat backfired when rest of the league found out that he wasn't a 20 mpg player and how his defense was overrated.

Keep Battier, trade Ariza! The Raptors and Cavs were interested in him. Maybe we can get LeBron or Bosh!

I think people look too much at one side of the ball.

Trevor has as much defensive potential as Chase does offensive potential.

YEAH some nights Trevor gets torn a new one, and it's usually against some of the best players in the NBA. It happens. How many times have we seen guys like Roy make it look like Battier isn't even there?

But if Ariza has a good defensive game it never gets talked about.
