THIS YEAR, he has been asked to play outside of his abilities. Yes it is painful to see Ariza dribble and bounce the ball off his freakin leg for a turn over. BUT we have Yao coming back next year. This is my hope. I think Trevor will benifit sooooooo much with the inside-out game. Trevor is a good slasher just how Cat was. I just HOPE things work out better next year. If not then I am wrong and lose this arguement.
Also, you guys want to see why Kyle Lowry is not a starting PG in the NBA, because tonight's game is how they call it in the playoffs. They are not falling for his flops and running into people and he is flopping and not getting the calls. DD
layup, after layup, after layup, i would love to play against the rox if they just going to give me free layups and wide open 3s all day, they make teams like the pacers, thunder, jazz look like the 1996 chicago bulls or 1986 boston celtics
Cat? CAT? He could dribble...come on.....sure Trevor can slash....but if he can't SHOOT, they don't have to guard him... NBA teams are leaving him wide open on the perimeter, because THEY WANT HIM TO SHOOT IT !!! I am sorry, Trevor is just not a good NBA player....we way overpaid for a bench player. The Rockets are better when Trevor is sick....just watch that Boston game again for proof. DD
That was one freaking play. He played crappy defense at 1st half as all the team, but did a good job on Granger in the 3rd. I know it because I followed him specially, was interested in the change of attitude after Adelman's predictable quarrel at halftime. He showed another attitude and I think played a good defense -not good offense-.
You guys are actually watching this? I'd rather be watching 16 and Pregnant on MTV. The guys on there can penetrate and the girls have better ball handling skills.
Actually that situation is much more complex than the Lakers just letting him go. You know they wanted Artest and valued him more than Trevor....and the funny thing is...that some of their fans think Trevor should STILL be on the team now. If you go to a Laker board and post that "Trevor is garbage." I think most if not every single one of them will laugh at that opinion...and I am quite familiar with Laker fans. I don't think we overpaid for him, we just asked him to do things he's not used to doing. As the poster above said, a Marion type player is what he should and could be. Marion is a much more efficient shooter and better handler, but thats what Trevor is capable of. I think you are not taking into effect his age. Artest has already shown signs of decline and Trevor COULD get better. You pay for potential too, that's why we have not overpaid for him which is a MLE. Trevor started out well for us, averaging near 20ppg for a moment there and I think this got everyone excited about his potential. Now that he's understandably cooled off, it seems he's become the scapegoat of the team and every team has one.
Granger is 6-16 with 18 points. That is a good defensive effort. We lost this game because pretty much everyone else besides Granger went flipping nuts with our generally bad D ( Seriously, AJ Price with 11 points? Who the heck is this guy?)
Thats the great thing about basketball. If you put time and effort you can make your shot alot better in one offseason. Look at Carl Landry for example. The 3 point shooting can be worked on. Dribbling will take more time but we probably will not need him to beat guys off the dribble next year with big men in the paint. We cannot label Trevor as overpaid in his first year as well. He was brought in to be a part of a championship team, not the center of a championship team. We have to wait atleast 3 years, 2 years after this one, to see if Morey made the right move.
What about the Heat and Jazz games where we got destroyed literally without him? Also Kevin Martin was also out for that game. So does that make him a bad player also?
