That's exactly the problem. His back's shot and he's only going to get older. Way back when Adelman joined the team I argued that it was going to be a good thing because T-Mac off the ball hopefully meant T-Mac getting easy, open looks from 12 to 15 feet away from the basket. I'm not a big fan of him going to the basket because I fully expect that one of these days he's going to land wrong and his knee or vertebrae is going to explode and send shrapnel into the front row.
Just because we almost loss to bad team that mean we won't get out the first round thats crazy to think that. The Suns loss not once but twice to Minnesota. That just shows that on any given night any team can beat any team. This is the NBA.
I didn't see the game but i'm glad we won, especially since Landry was the man !! I love our rookies, without them we would be a losing team and this franchise would've fallen apart, trades would've been made etc. I love how different people step up but i'm getting more and more concerned about the team when T-mac's on the floor. Against GSW Rafer and Head had great games and they really play well with eachother, now T-mac's back and Rafer has a terrible game with almost no assists. If this continues the way it does i really suggest that we move T-mac. Not out of hate or anything because the guy is a pretty cool dude but obviously he's not willing to adapt to the system. Hopefully this will come tonight or the game after that but if it doesn't happen in any of these 2 road games we're doomed. Then it will be like last year: we make the playoffs and lose in the first round. It's time for some changes but i don't think nobody from the management down to almost all the player want to see T-mac go. Maybe a trade is not the option but giving him less minutes or get him off the bench until he adapts. If he won't adapt, even though he has shown he can do it like against the Spurs a few times, it's time to let him go. What do yall think ? P.S I like Scola started again and Hayes got some playing time. We have some great rotation at PF and i hope it will be 30+ for Scola, 20+ for Landry and 5-10 for Hayes every game from now on.
or, we could try to move Rafer. I guess that's a bit easier to accomplish. Rafer is mediocre and inconsistent to say the least and inconsistent PG wont lead us to anywhere in playoff. On the other hand, with all the baggages T-Mac has, attitude, motivation issue, huge contract, health issues, etc., he is still an elite player in this league and has the ability to single-handedly change a game. That's something you dont want to give up in the playoff.
tmac does a good job of finding the open teammate, but a lot of those baskets that he scored in the 4th quarter were "skill" points, and not just easy layups from dump off passes.................since you brought tmac up, I thought he was horrible down the stretch again last night.....there was an extremely bad jumper he took at the top of the key with a man all over him, and on one posession when Rafer was getting trapped he didn't even come over and demand the ball like a real superstar would in that situation...........overall he was decent last night (speaking of tracy)
With the ball in Rafer's hands - the offense will stagnate more because defenders know that he doesn't create his own shot off the dribble - and only have to stop him from penetrating and dishing. In other words, no one is going to get an open jumper off of rafer. Maybe Brooks, but rafer is the primary pg. So I disagree with that strategy. The point to me of adelman's offense is that it's not the first pass that creates the opportunity. It's the second or third. And I think you see T-mac passing a lot more, which is why his assists are up. HIs fg% isn't going to be great this year, not with his knee issues....but the fact that we can still win is because he is such a threat that opponents will still double him. That leaves someone open....and even if the D adjusts, another person will get open. You can't beat the power of a guy who can draw a double and still pass the ball and create many opportunities for his teammates.
Aaron Brooks is our Best PG. Now that Scola has rightly taken the starting job over Hayes, I think Alston should also lose his Starting job, and Aaron should be our PG from now on. He's got amazing handles that is fun to watch. He's also a much better shooter than Alston, and can take it to the rack in a blur. Do you think Aldelman will make this change to the PG as he did with our PF spot? Alston = Chuck Hayes offense in the PG position. Ok maybe not that extreme, but close enough. However, the AfterBurner = Scola / Landry in the PG position.
200 million to watch 'Yao-Yi II' http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=713828 Anyone care to post this as a thread?
Good win last night. I think the team stands a solid shot of being able to get the 7 or 8 seed. Its time to give this team to Yao and stop making it McGrady's team.
