The main problem was not Harden! It was Asik! When Asik is tired and he was obviously , our defense s..cks.
He is the most important piece in our team.

Both Harden and Asik were tired. Harden shots in 3rd quarter were all short, a clear sign that he didn't have any lift on his legs.

    Very excusable game.

    132 points is a season-high for Denver.

In the old days people used to value D.....but it's no surprise since you most likely consider Melo and Harden as superstars.

I think you need to take that with a grain of salt. Most of those games we played the top teams were before the all star break and IMHO we are a very different team now.

Also, Harden gets to the line a lot. Just looking at FG% is kinda misleading.

Can't edit my post so I will add another one.

I think you are seriously being spoiled by the Beard if you don't consider his 30 point games monster games. If I recall correctly he had plenty of assists and rebounds too.

What does the guy need to do? Go for 40 every time we play a top team?

How about wave a hand up when he is guarding someone - at least TRY on defense, he doesn't need to be a lock down defender, but he is clearly resting on D.

I would settle for him just being an adequate defender - if he wants to be a Superstar he has to play defense too, IMO.

I was too quick in selecting the parameters, but certaily not a key factor in determining if someone had a 'monster game.' I just don't like seeing exaggerated info on this forum.

I love Harden before the trade and still believe he is the most important piece going forward. He is just a young, high bbiq budding star who is trying to take his game to the next level. Any exaggerated expectation is just unwarranted.

what was ironic was at the end of the 1st quarter mchale was saying, how lucky they were that they hit tough threes and that they have to pound in and kick out for better threes...

which is what they didn't do. they started chucking and ignored the big men. it seems whenever the bigs (ashik, smith) score double figures the rockets do well.

I dont understand....How can you say Harden's 30-point is a monster game when the team actually lost???

Harden will probably tell you this; anything he does in loss becomes insignificant and certainly can't be labeled as a "monster game."

Bottom line is we went 3-18 against top teams.

So Steph Curry's 50+ point game against the Knicks wasn't a monster game?

Jeremy Lin's 38 point effort against the Spurs?

We lost those games for plenty of reasons, I just don't think Harden was the main reason in most of them or even close to being so.

The PF position, McHale's substitutions and being terribly screwed by the scheduling had a lot more to do with it. That and those are top teams for a reason. They are supposed to win. If you asked almost anyone at the start the season if we had a chance against them I think we all know the answer.

I agree he has plenty of room to improve but the way some of you guys are sounding its like hes absolutely terrible. Dude has been playing injured for a while now. And given all hes done for us this season I would cut him some slack.

His peers all say nice things about him because they all know he's not a threat. Just like how MJ used to say about Barkley that he will never win. Just like how no one said anything bad about Dominique.

For someone who averaged 12+ ppg (at that time), 38 point was a breakout game, win or lose, but a 30 point was a 'monster game' for someone who was 26+ppg...and in a loss too??

Be logical with your comparison and the term "monster game."
