    This is an excellent point.

Until he commits to playing both ends of the floor, I think you are closer to right than wrong.

Only on CF where the best scorer in the league is not elite and where Donatas Motejuenas is the next Dirk.

This Melo is the best scorer nonsense has to stop. It makes me want to puke and I am a Knicks fan. Durant is a much better scorer. So is Lebron if he actually shoots instead of making good plays. They are both much more efficient scorers than Melo.

Melo this season I would consider an elite player just barely. Normally he is not since his efficiency is mediocre and he is a mediocre defender and playmaker.

He kind of has a point. Harden has been getting too much hate but he is not exactly a "Superstar." He is a top 10 player in the league but he isn't top 5 IMO. A superstar is CP3, Lebron, Wade, Kobe, Howard. Harden isn't experienced enough, guy is only 23 and will probably get there next year.

That being said some people on here expect the guy to carry the offensive load and be ron artest on defense.

Durant is hands down the best scorer, but Melo gets the nod for most versatile?
I never liked Melo that much, but mostly because of his b**** attitude.

I would take Harden over Kobe. But I would take Wade over both. LBJ CP3 Parker Howard Wade Marc Gasol Duncan Westbrook etc those guys are superstars. Harden is a star player & budding superstar but until his defense improves I don't think he will be a superstar.

Nope to those guys in bold. If Harden isn't a superstar you seriously can't make the argument for Westbrook. Harden is actually a better playmaker and shooter than westbrook and has clearly been the better player this season. As far as Marc Gasol goes, he is great...but he isn't that good.

Oh and I wouldn't take Harden over Kobe based on talent right NOW alone. Yea Kobe is going to be done in a like a year which is why you would never do a trade like that but Kobe is still much more lethal, seasoned, and clutch.

He may be the most versatile. Maybe not but versatility and aesthetics mean nothing. The only thing that matters is results and frankly in terms of results Durant, Lebron, and even Harden fare better in terms of scoring. Factor in Melo's absurd ball dominance. 35+% usage and his scoring becomes even more glaringly overrated.

Marc Gasol a superstar o.o? He is a great C and underrated to be frank. Game changer on D. WB is not better than Harden this season. They are about a wash. WB loves to gamble on D so his defense is not as great as it could be. He has terrible shot selection and scores on so-so efficiency while Harden scores on incredibly good efficiency. Howard? He hasn't been a superstar at all this season.

roxxy I maintain that Harden isn't a superstar. But if you are going to say he isn't and maintain that Westbrook is, that is just hating.

Whether Harden is a superstar or not is purely semantics. Lets just say he is probably a bottom end top 10 player in this league. Which qualifies him as a superstar in my book imo.

Yes you can. Russ has been a main guy for much longer than Harden & has also shown it in the post season. Russ also isn't as poor of a defender as Harden is. Sorry I mean't Tyson Chandler is a superstar not Marc. Tyson is DPOY, Olympic gold medalist, NBA Champion, All Star.
