Well whoever we get from the lottery, may it be the 8th, 9th, or 10th pick, i highly doubt that person will be a major factor in next year's season. T-mac and Yao are the major players, everything still depends on them. But no doubt the pick would be a good role player at least in the first year, and then following the first year will develop into something better. Who knows we might get lucky and the 1st few picks would suck, and the picks later would be better in the NBA.

There is nothing positive about ever dropping draft slots.

Clearly folks we are following the worlds most frustrating franchise!

when we want them to win, they can't.

when we want them to drop a game they dont even have any right to win, they get up.

all in all, a very frustrating scenario.

    LOL!!!!

JVG keeps screwing the Rockets franchise.

The whole city of Houston might as well bend over and let JVG rape em all one by one in broad daylight.

    This is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do you guys like the smile on Juwan Howard face after scoring 31pts? "Wow! what a win? I knew we can do it because I am here to carry the team for the remaining game." Howard said.

easy guys. i dont think it was really a must lose. yes i know it had very big effects on our draft position but i guess jvg was just playing the guys who worked hard in practices to create an atmosphere wherein playing time is not given but earned.

that said, i still think it would have been better for the rockets to lose, but since they won, we could do nothing about it. lets just hope this will teach the younger guys the importance of great work ethic.

there's no reason really for us to hate on the rockets. win or lose, go rockets!

i know that the top 3 would be there for us. (i'll be praying to get one in the top 3 through the lottery) --> i have faith.

WIN they better WIN on Wednesday. They can loose any game but to the Spurs. I don't like the Spurs and it will make the end of the season for me if they beat the Spurs on Wednesday. :p

You probably haven't checked the draftees for this year's draft. There is a reason Clutch started this thread because he has done his work.

This draft is predictable in the top 7 picks, there is pretty much consensus on what the talents are. Especially for the players we want to get, Roy or Gay, they will be gone exactly around the 6th pick or possibly the 7th pick. That's why Clutch and other knowledgable fans want the Rox to lose all the games because the best Rox can get is the 7th before last night's game. Now it is over.

Now about FA signing you talked about for the Lakers and the Pistons, Rox is capped, there is no chance to sign up blue chip FA. Impact players are not coming for the MLE.

Clutch and other knowledgable fans are not hoping for the top 3. They are hoping for Roy or Gay who would be gone exactly around the 6th or the 7th pick.

Some of the big guards like Roy or Carney might fall to our pick because teams like Boston, Toronto and the Warriors are more in need of big men than they need guards. If these teams draft for need instead of best available then we might get Roy or Carney. Lets hope that happens but what about guys like Mardy Collins and Ronnie Brewer, would you take these guys over Redick.

All of those 3 teams could use a center, but it's unlikely there will be any centers worthy of a pick that high. None of those 3 really need a pf and none of those 3 are desperate for a center(well, maybe toronto). Toronto could really use a sg/sf and golden state could use a better sf. Boston will take bpa most likely.

I haven't seen much of Collins or Brewer, but from what I've read they certainly seem more interesting than Redick.

Not the Raptors, they will most likely select Roy. The Raps actually have a decent core of big men and w/ MJ leaving, they could use guards.

This shows that Denver Nuggets do not care about the win but Rockets do. :(

    Nuggets squander late lead

With the game on the line, it’s usually Carmelo Anthony out there, but not Monday. Even though a steal and a dunk by Chuck Hayes gave the Rockets an 84-83 lead with 13.4 seconds left, Anthony didn’t come into the game.

He was ready to check in after Denver called a timeout, but he stayed on the bench.

“Regardless of the situation, the playoff pictures or guys wanting to rest, we want to win the game,” he said. “That’s the most important.”

Karl didn’t want to put his leading scorer at risk in a meaningless game.

“I thought that would have been irresponsible,” the Denver coach said. “He could have went back in there and gotten hurt.”

the key word is "might" playin sport is a funny thing because you could get hurt at any moment, a slight slip, an awkward landing, collisions with other players, its just random if a player gets injured, who knows the basketball gods may frown upon denver and carmelo might get injured the next time he plays, but what I'm saying is, players no the risks of playing and that you could get injured at any moment
