A draft like this one, it doesn't matter how high the Rockets pick. At best, they'll get a halfway decent complementary player. Winning a game (or two?) to close the season won't hurt much.

Personally, I'm kinda pumped that they won, so pardon me while I thumb my nose at the tank crews.

Dumb or smart??? We've already known that in the Utah game (or a number of games before that).

Some call this sportsmanship and professionalism.

Asking players to lose a game deliberately is simply unfair to them. It is the responsibilities of the Management and the coach. They are responsible to BUILD the team. They didn't build a winning team this season (due to the injuries, fair enough) but they MUST plan for future. There are dozens of correct ways to re-build your team for next season but apparently they have chosen to ignore all of them. They chose to play their star player until he could not play at all and they don't even bother to spare extra minutes for new players to experience.

Dumb??? I say no. The management and our coach are so smart but unfortunately they are just a bunch of miserable cowards!

    Don't bet on it.

Personally, I like Juwan's solid journeyman play. Congrats to JH for a new season high in points.

Way to put your best team out there, JVG. Why not put your bench players in, everyone else in the ENTIRE league is doing the same thing? Even the opposing coach in the very same game for the second half for crying out loud.

    Idiot.

Well, there goes alot of the entire excitement over the draft for the fanbase. I don't blame Howard, you can't tell a player to tank, but put differences aside and put Lampe in for the second half for crying out loud.

wow...a devastating win....what was chuch hayes thinking? even when juwan plays well it hurts us and why can't stro get more than 20 mpg? i think jvg has a personal grudge for some reason against the guy maybe the same way his ego ruined the opportunity for derrick anderson to contribute here this season

It's a shame you feel like you have to shoot down Juwan's accomplishment.

    Congratulations again to JH.

Why the hell was Karl being a moron?

O well. I wanted Rudy Gay. Now we'll get like the 6th pick. Rodney Carney, welcome to Houston.

What can I say for this win? Congratlation to JVG, he did very good job without playing young players to get the win, Rox fans would be very happy for the win.

Nuggets will get a higher draft pick also. If the clippers lost the next 2 games and the nuggets win, they would get the 22nd pick. Now they have the 21st pick. If they lose the next game and the lakers win, they will get a coin toss for the 20th pick.

If they won this game and the next game, they would still not have home court advantage even if the clippers lost the next 2 games. They would have the same recourd as the clippers, with the clippers having the tiebreaker due to a 3-1 head to head record. It was in the best interests of the Nuggets to rest their starters and to tank.

You can't blame the players on this win. Most players are going to play hard, particularly those like Chuck Hayes who are playing for a contract.

I can't even blame Van Gundy for this. It's not like the players we had on the court on starter-quality. I mean, Juwan Howard was having a good game but he's been helping teams lose games for years now. It's what he's best at.

No, I blame Denver for poor sportsmanship. They didn't play to compete. They wouldn't even put their best player, a guy who's hit 8 game winning shots in this season alone, back in the game for the last possession. Carmelo was on the sideline visibly angry for not being put in, but George Karl left him out because he simply didn't care about winning the game at all. It had nothing to do with "resting him" (one possession is going to impact his playoff performance?). It was a pure tank job.

You rookies really gotta stop. Get to the bench and stay there.

At least there's some relief in knowing that it's still a lottery, and maybe Karma will reward us for our hustle and effort.

Nuggets are probably laughing their asses off. They are just coasting their way in.

It's official now. I am a Nuggets hater. Can't wait til their mediocre team gets their asses handed to them in the playoffs. Over and over and over, because they are in no way championship contenders.

and you freaking JVG wants winning environment? what's your records w/o Yao and/or T-mac. it proved you dumb ass wont get the job done w/o talent, winning environment or not. You failed to win the games we needed. Now we have a chance to get better talent, your stupid ego get the better of you. Next season will be the same, probably same starting lineup, daily b****ing about passion/heart/defense, 80-point game, T-mac and Yao will carry the team to 50 win but they will be eliminated in the first round, another season wasted.
