Rick, now it is you turn to shine. If you can figure out a way to win next 2 games, COY is yours.

Now that the hornets lost, the rockets can go for first seed.

But the most complicated thing right now is. If the rockets beat nuggets, they could become first seed, but the nuggets could fall out of the playoffs, and GS might come in. Which is not a good thing.

GS's remaining games are phoenix and sonics, whiles nuggets are rockets and memphis. Both teams can win their last game, but they could lose their next game.

If GS wins against Phoenix, the rockets will be facing a tough decision. Beat Denver and have a chance of moving up to first seed, but at the same time denver could be out the playoffs and GS will probably be who we're facing. Or, if we lose against nuggets, the rockets will probably remain 5th and play and against the jazz.

Or, the other scenario is. GS loses to both phoenix and sonic, and the rockets beat denver and move up to first seed. Denver wins against memphis, and we face them in the playoffs.

At the same time, LA will be playing SA. And SA will have to play SAC and UTAH before the season ends. Whiles LA will have to play SA and SAC before the season ends. As for hornets, they'll be playing clippers and dallas on road.

The best scenario for us is if SA beats LA, but loses against UTAH. That way, if we win the remaining of our games, SA nor LA will be able to catch up with us. And Dallas MUST beat Hornets if we want to be first seed. But at the same time, GS will have to lose both of their remaining games, and Denver will have to win their last game (cause they'll be playing us next game).
But Denver has a 1 game advantage over GS right now in conference, so if Denver and GS ties, denver should be going to playoffs (i think).

This scenario requires a lot of luck, cause winning our last 2 games isn't exactly a good thing if Denver drops out of the playoffs or if we cannot be the sole owner of first seed.

If we can't even bet GS, then we can't beat any body else.

True. And If we lose to Denver no matter who is the #8 seed means nothing for us. GS is good but absolutely a better choice for us than any other team among the top 8.

If Rockets actually manage to get 1st, I'm going to jump off a cliff.

Can't wait for this week to wrap up!

Actually, GS and Denver both sound pretty good (although we haven't exactly been dominating GS so far, our last 2 wins over GS were really close). But if we go all the way and try to get first seed, it might backfire and we might need to face suns or dallas. Dallas isn't so bad, but suns... Well its possible to beat suns since they have a fatso and nash. And they're both old players who will tire out pretty quickly.

Come to think about it. Suns actually sound pretty good if we put brooks on nash. Nash was absolutely no match for brooks, nash could not get opened, and even when he did, brooks caught up with him within seconds. Our only disadvantage would be our paint defense, but if we put brooks, battier, and mcgrady in the front(Mcgrady actually played really good defense against the suns, very good lock down defense). We have a good chance of shutting them down on the perimeter.

Also, nash cannot last 2 games guarding brooks, our offense isn't like the Spurs, nash would have to keep running. And Shaq cannot last 2 games either, he is way too old, and looking at our win over the suns, Shaq cannot guard against a Deke-T-mac pick n roll, which was killing them.

So IMO, suns do not sound so bad afterall. Suns weakness is their own style of play. They have to do alot of running in the offensive end, and a lot of running on the defensive end (since we have similar style of offense). We have the endurance advantage because
    1. RA is the master of subs, and we have a terrific bench
    2. Our players are younger, and battier, t-mac are both players that can give you 40 mins (although not each game).

If we manage to slip into 1st and Warriors get into 8th, is it worth the risk? Imagine us losing to the Warriors...the media is going to be all over Golden State's back-to-back year of eliminating seed #1.

Their fans will become so annoying...I'm not sure if its worth it.

What? It was listed at LP's game. And I'm sure cause I checked it yesterday. Utah game is on NBA TV.

BTW, we need to win this one. It is good Denver has just played againsg Jazz, that might make them a little tired.

We need to play similar game to friday's. We need to understand Denver plays even more awful defense than Suns, T-Mac needs to understand that he can score on them every time he wants.

    We gotta win :)

Denver are fighting for survival, we are fighting for a better playoff seed, they probably want this one more than we do, just hope the players dont see it that way..

No doubt that this is a huge game for Denver and they will want this one badly. However, I have no doubt that our guys will want it just as much. With the hornets faltering, they left a door wide open for us. We need to jump through it with both feet.

We will lose to the nuggets. Big time lost. They will blow us out by 30 points, we will have no chance of playing them in the playoffs, and we have no chance of passing first round.

T-mac never passed the first round and he never will. When the fans believe t-mac have already pass the first round each time, he hasn't. I don't think t-mac will pass the first round this year. Never ever.

    ;) ;)

If the Rockets defense is even half as good as it was vs. the Suns, we'll get another nice win.
