Denver is an example of a team our 3 PT strategy is not going to work against. How can you disregard defense and just get in a 3 point shootout against a team who has 3 of the top 30 3 PT% leaders???????? We don't have anyone in the top 50 when it comes to %.
We had to take 44 shots from behind the arc to make 16, and Denver took only 31 to make 14. Meanwhile, we have to watch them rack up over 80 points before halftime.

I know our game will be much much better once Clint is back, but we seriously need better 3 PT shooters to try having shootouts in the playoffs against some of the teams ahead of us. Heck, Denver isn't the only team with a lot of high percentage shooters from behind the arc. San Antonio has 3 of the top 30 3 PT% leaders as well, and 4 in the top 50. The Warriors and Thunder both have two in the top 50. Milwaukee has 3 of the top 38 and 4 in the top 50. The list goes on, and we aren't even on that list until Tucker appears at #56. Live and die by the 3 can't be our only way to win. I'm afraid that our hot and cold, hit and miss shooting isn't going to get us past round one if we don't snag another great defensive player or 2 before the deadline. Being able to drive it inside, rebound, and hit the 3's would be nice.

Capela and House fixes so many things for Houston. It doesn't seem like it now, but there was a time when we were playing much better than we are now. It's because of those guys being in the starting lineup.

You can't go back 9 games now. We are a different team this year and so are they. The numbers simply don't lie. They have much better 3 PT shooters than us this year, and we are very hot and cold from behind the arc. Our defense is trash right now without Clint. Even with Clint, we won't beat them through a round of playoffs if we rely on the 3 PT shot to get us past them. We need to address the whole we have in defense this week, and get someone who can up our game, drive it inside, and put points on the board consistently.

 

And? He has Westbrook to help him on offense and an Adams to funnel his man into. Harden has a not-100% CP3 on offense and no one on defense. Guaranteed coaches are more scared of Westbrook and Adams than they are of CP3 and Faried.

I absolutely can go back 9 games as the constants remain the same. Denver has no one to guard Harden, and they can’t stop the Harden-Capela PnR. Clint had a career high 31 points in our last game against them. Denver finally beat us at home without Clint, and that has caused u to make all these big proclamations, proclamations u weren’t making during our 2 wins against them this year.

 

I’ve seen so many Denver fans say that the 3 teams they don’t want to face in the playoffs are GS, HOU, and LA only because of playoff Bron. They know we’re a bad matchup for them.

OK, maybe I am wrong then. I stand corrected if so. How was our 3 PT shooting those games? Maybe we had a good night those games, but we aren't as good overall 3 PT shooters. My concern is that it can go ice cold, and our defense stinks without Clint. We really need more defensive guys on this team, and a couple would be even nicer.

 

Without Capela, the Jokic was on us.
