That last foul by mobley was more along the lines of him
    basically just being too tired

Looks like the Rockets wore down.

    Melo is a throwback to
English, Bird, B. King, Dr J,
    Great Small Forwards

I think the lack of size at the SF showed tonite
    but i'm not entirely unhappy

I think the Rockets ran out of gass

    damn...

after the game I ran up a 100.00 bar tab buying drinks for three fine girls that all have boyfriends...

somehow real life never fails to emulate a Rocket's game for me...

    goodnight,
    me...

Yes, they are tired, but it's also a fact that Mobley is good at making stupid fouls down the stretch.

Don't forget Mo Taylor. He committed a bad foul as well, and before that he dribbled the shot clock out and didn't even know it.

A real painful loss, only if Cat didn't foul him but nevertheless the season moves on.

For some reason, I see more of an Antoine Walker. Melo is definetely not a bird, as for the others I have not seen enough/know enough about their games to compare. But Bird? Melo just had it going, he's usually not THAT good. The two bank shot three-pointers?

Let's hope for his sake he went home and bought a lotto ticket.

Yes Mobley fouled Leanard at the end. The thing is, Leanard is shooting 50% on three pointers in the last 10 games or so. If Mobley doesn't go after that shot it is wide open. He had to fight around a moving pick by Camby to get out there, and he happened to get VL on the arm. It happens. He was also 4-9 for 17 points and held his man to 6-16 shooting. He also hit all of his free throws. If Steve had not shot 50% from the FT line it would not have made any difference. If Taylor had not fouled Anthony while he was doing nothing, it wouldn't have made a difference. If someone had been able to get the rebound it wouldn't have made a difference. If anybody could have slowed down Carmelo in the third quarter, it wouldn't have made a difference. Cuttino didn't lose the game, he just made the last in a whole half of mistakes.

I see a little Bird in Melo in that Melo just gets it out there. He does all the little things that allow the team to win. Sometimes its rebounding, sometimes scoring, playing D, and sometimes passing. He takes what the defense gives him. He also gets to the free throw line. The kid is only 19 years old and has already played on the best team in the nation in highschool, college, and now is proving it in the pros. He nevers does anything crazy athletic. He just gets the job done.

HeyP once said that freshmans who lead their teams to national titles are special, and I seem to agree with him on this one. The kid is a stud. The least he will be is another Grant Hill.

As a whole, the team played great. They should have won this game. Unfortunately a lack of focus down the stretch cost them the game. JVG better have Mobley and Taylor running laps for making 2 crucial mistakes late in the game. No excuses.

That's not what I'm aluding to here. For the game, the Rockets had 20 turnovers to Denver's 11. For the season Houston ranks 28th in turnovers averaging 16.5 per game. Only Miami is worse.

My point is that it is their mistakes that help keep teams in the game. Even though Denver was 16 points down, they were never truly out of it because the Rockets continued to give them the ball by turning it over. Once Carmelo got hot and started bombing from 3 point land, turnovers along with stupid fouls (you simply DON'T foul a guy jacking up a 3 point shot MoTaylor & Cuttino!) sealed their doom.

Doesn't matter one bit. He'll be right back on Monday making the same stupid dumbass mistakes...

Sometimes I swear that Mobley couldn't get any dumber even if you cut his head off...

This was a game the Rockets were suppose to lose. This is a back to back at mile high.

They simply ran out of gas. But 95 to 94. The Rockets were so close. They all tried hard. Even Taylor's stupid foul. He's trying to slow down the hot hand and yes, it was dump 20/20 hind sight. But he was trying. Was it smart NO, but it's life.

What I knew was going to happen was that down one point with 8.3 sec that the Rockets were not going to make the shot. They have one move and it's the same everytime. Ming high pick and Francis drive down the middle. I've seen that too many times at the end of games to know it wasn't going to work. It didn't.

Fact it, The kid is a stud and he had a field day at Rocket's expense. But it was an exciting game and if I wasn't a Rocket fan this would be a good game. But I am and it was a sad lost.

But they sure looked good in the first half! And how about 6 players scoring for 12 points to start the game. Even distribution if there was ever any doubt. Over 10 assists for Steve, Mo's season high. Too bad they lost.

Was that last TO on Francis? If so, I think it was his only TO.

As for Mobley, yeah, it may have been a bad foul, but Lenard could have made it and it would have been irrelevant.

For the record, I did not watch the game.

Horrible idea. I think the team needs to rally around those guys. Fouling someone at least shows effort. I would only run someone if they didn't show any effort.

If you didn't watch it, than don't comment. Anything could have been this or that. Fouling a 3pt shot attempt when you are up by 2 with only a few sec left in the game is not a bad foul, it's a DUMB and STUPID foul. Ok not that bad, but it's a mistake. Don't even attempt to justify it.

You'll be proven wrong many times over the next few years. Melo is a whole lot like Bird except he is more athletic. All he wants to do is win. So he does what the team needs. He makes the right decisions with the basketball, he can shoot lights out, and he makes all his teammates better. That is how you had to describe Bird.

I was hoping beyond hope that the Rockets would figure out some way to make a trade and draft this kid. I believe he alongside Yao would have been unstoppable. Melo and Lebron are this generation's Bird and Magic, no doubt.

I didn't get a chance to watch the game, I wanted to record it but 51 was showing up crappy once I turned the VCR on. That sucks how they lost but seems like the offense was flowing. 10 assists to 1 TO is awesome for Francis. Glad to see him playing well again, like I said a thousand times to Francis haters, in order for him to get assists his teamates have to actually make shots. Anyways, I felt it was kinda messed up that the league scheduled the Rockets as well as the other teams that played on Christmas day to play the day after. Why don't they give them a break and a chance to spend time with family? Peace.
