Dmo will win us this game. Nuggets big men are too small to defend him.

Just play defense. Everything else will take care of itself.

Why do people keep acting like scoring from the bigs was the issue last game? o_O Dwight had 12. TJ had 23.

The problem -- as always -- was defense. Cannot let Gallinari and Will freaking Barton combine for 50 and expect to win a game.

ETA: Just looked back at the box score and realized Mudiay shot 1 for 10 that night. We were lucky to only lose by 9. Gross.

Trying to outrun and outscore Nuggets in their 1 mile high turf isn't a very wise strategy. So, we really need to stop Gallo. That being said, he's a really tough cover. A 3/4 hybrid that we don't really have the means to stop consistently. Too big for Ariza to handle, too skilled for either Jones/Capela, might be too fast for DMo (I'm not sure about this one yet though).

To judge the 3point defence the most important factor by far is to see the number of 3 pointers the team allows not the %. Otherwise it's hit or miss for the other team.

Overall: 24.8 allowed (21st in the league)
December: 25.8 allowed (23rd in the league - even worse than season avg)

Oh well there you go. That's no improvement in 3point defence that's a regress.
The % just shows that we have been mostly lucky nothing else.
I'm surprised we aren't even lower in team defence, but last time I looked we at least had "good" pnr defence. That was 2 weeks ago.

I agree with your poins to an extent. But it's not black and white like that. Shooting percentages and good shot contesting matter. Statistically, a defense allowing 20 FGA on 50% is the same as defense allowing 25 FGA on 40%.

We've won a few more games, but we are still 27th in defensive rating, we will never be a good team unless that drastically improves.

I hate haren for not playing transition defense. If there's a guy running at haren he will move out of his way, so he doesn't get injured or hurt, because haren doesn't take charges.

That's not factually correct. Only 208 players took at least 1 charge last season. And Harden was 122nd with 3 charges taken. Not much, but it's something. League leader was DeMarcus Cousins with 34 charges taken.

    1. DeMarcus Cousins 34
    2. Monta Ellis 29
    3. Marreese Speights 28
    4. Kyle Lowry 26
    5. Donatas Motiejunas 24

He routinely drives into a cluster of defenders and takes the contact game after game after game, season after season after season. There are guys who shy away from contact, but I would not count Harden among them.

The Chicken Nuggets always beat the Rockets. I expect more of the same. :-(
