This is true relative to the NBA league context, but to be fair, very very few NBA players are actually good when they're 19-21 years old. When I was growing up in the 80s and 90s, most rookies weren't even that young, most guys came into the league around age 22.

I do think the Rockets have a handful of players that would be getting minutes off the bench on most teams even if they were 25 though. The whole starting lineup is pretty much at the level of an average NBA bench player right now, as well as one or two of the bench guys.

But yeah you're not going to win much if your whole team is bench-caliber players and you also don't have any stars.

This draft is really important and we're also going to have to hope there's a lot more development left to come for at least some of our current players (which there probably is).

I truly believe that a core of porter, sengun, green, and smith could at least be competitive with a good coach.

I don't think KPJ can play next to Green as a full-time backcourt, honestly. How often have both had a good game at the same time?

KPJ would look great coming off the bench as a 2 or 3. As long as he never plays another minute at PG

I've been saying it for 2 years. It's still true

Tate is our best player (and we are definitely holding him out when he could play )

The 1 guy that consistently makes smart plays and does things the right way.

Is he our most talented player, hell no.but , I really do think he's our best (especially in the context you are talking about ...knowing how to play the game )

The Nets reminded all the purists and nostalgia buffs why the 3 point shot reigns supreme.

Hey - we'll get em next time! At least it was close right!? ;)

Pathetic loss, hated a lot of our offensive sets, iso plays by KPJ & Josh, overenthusiastic and expecting calls on drives by a lot of our guys including Smith & Martin. Refs did screw up on some goaltends, but this should've been a win.

Shooting can be taught I mean look at Lu Dort.

I dunno why we have an incompetent shooting team I havent seen anyone markedly improve their shooting while on the Rockets. Maybe thats yhe reason the young guys are sucking more than anything rather than blame Silas our skills development team sucks ass so much.

Dort and Giddey went from non shooters to decent/below average shooters. On our squad Jabari started out as an elite shooter and became a bad shooter. Jalen Green and JC shows little to no improvement from last season. Sengun and Garuba still non shooters at the 3.

It doesnt matter how good Stone drafts if our skills dev staff sucks we are just wasting our time and the career of these young players.
