Rockets had 2 bench players, granted Ariza went down early, score 20+... one scored 30+. The real problem is Harden doesn't give consistent effort defensively. Everybody has off games shooting, but defense should be something you can fall back. Tonight he added an additional wrinkle.... 7 turnovers. I saw at least 3 $hitty passes that led to those turnovers. Harden is useless if he's not scoring.
This is replying to the people that are shocked we lost to the Nets, well you shouldn't be. Again, it took the Warriors OT to beat this same Nets team. No, there is no moral victory. No one said there was. Whether they should or shouldn't be sleeping on any team, it is what it is. They came out flat against a team that usually plays hard most of the time. As someone else mentioned, Old Habits Die hard. This habit of playing down to their competition has been around for a while now. That's the thing though. They've just won 4 games. Does it matter who it is against? I'm sure we'd all be happy if we closely beat the Nets too and the Nuggets, and the Mavs the first time. What was it? Rockets were like 5 of 6 coming into this game? So why flip out if they lose another game? They are going to lose games, they are not going to flip the switch back and go on a 20 game run or something. I mean it'd be cool if they would but they are going to have to work their way back into what they were. Just how it is.
