I agree, you gotta hand it to the Spurs. Great organization, top to bottom. The role model of NBA of franchises. You don't gotta hand it to Parker. I have watched enough of him to form my opinion. His percentages were miserable early in his career and some of them still are. His free throw shooting and 3pt shooting still suck. He has great speed and good ball control but he is not a great passer or a great shooter. He worked his tail off just to become a decent mid-range shooter. The reason he has such a high FG% is largely due to the system he plays in as is the case with many players that have the fortune of playing in good systems. Parker is not an elite PG. An elite PG could make an average team great like Nash and Kidd and Paul. Parker would not be able to elevate the play of an average team. This will be proven in a few years. Wait until Duncan retires and Parker has to take on a bigger role. I will bet you whatever you are willing to put up that he will not even be able to lead his team to the playoffs unless they bring in some other great player(s). On the other hand, if you replace Parker with another average PG like Rafer, while Duncan is still around, they will still be an elite team. If Rafer had played for the Spurs early in his career, his percentages would have been better and improved over time. Good systems have that effect on individual performance and statistics. Individually, Rafer is the more gifted ball player. Rafer is an even better ball-handler than Parker. Rafer is also a better passer and has much better court vision. Those little Frenchie leagues that Parker grew up in just don't compare to the competition that breeds our homegrown ballers. Over time, as the level of international play continues to grow, international players will have the necessary competition to develop skills at an early age that are on par with our players. At the time Parker was developing in Frenchie land, there is no way he could have developed like he could have playing here. One thing that players like Nash and Parker do get credit for is their lack of arrogance that is so common with our players. Many of these international players also have great work ethic and are more willing to buy into a system and listen to their coaches. Those factors allow them to catch up to and sometimes surpass our homegrown players. Parker gets credit for owning these positive characteristic but at the end of the day he just don't got as much game as even a player of Rafer's caliber. In fact, I would say the majority of NBA PGs have more game than Parker, he is just a very coachable player with a good attitude and that allows him to compensate for his weaknesses. Duncan helps too.
Then looks at steve But at least I didnt lose my game Dang!!! I wonder how much steve has to deal with comments like that considering he was onch one of the premiere guards in this league. Baron Davis: Hey steve, remember when you were better than me? lol Allen Iverson: Hey steve, exactly how do you forget your crossover? lol Stephon Marbury: I would make a witty comment, but im in no place to.
I thought it was Steve who said "Y'all two weigh the same now." And Mark Jackson came back with "at least I didnt lose my game."
I really think T-Mac would score 50+ if he kept on shooting. Give T-Mac credit, he rather passed the ball to have a balance offense. I think Rick Adelman was very pleased with the assists number. 3 players: T-Mac, Yao, & Battier, with 5 or more assists. It looks more like Rick Adelman's offense.
I think he could've gotten 50 if he wanted it. After scoring 13 in the 1st qtr, he only took two shots in the 2nd. Two 3s, nothing but net. He slowed way down after jump-started our offense and cruised from there..which was the best thing to do. He gave our role players the opportunity to assert themselves in the game, and therefore we won as a team. We are really starting to see Adleman's offense in full effect. Great game.
It doesn't work, when some new poster who isn't on your ignore list decides to quote his posts. There are always new posters.
I think the best solution is a spoiler tag - and I really like looking at the pictures, thanks Pryuen!
I read this board almost everyday and I think I have just seen someone quoted all the pictures once before. Why would you worry about it?
is this old news?? I just saw it... http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3143613 R.J. Adelman goes on leave after reported DUI charge
Spoiler may not solve the issue. It looks like a div which loads the pictures anyway even though they are hidden. Put on ignore list will work.
Right, and it's also been pointed out that Boozer dropped 28 on Oberto and apparently stole 17 boards. Easily one of the most inaccurate posts ever.
No need to put him on the ignore list. The spoiler tag would do it. Yes, it would still load the photos, but it wouldn't randomly push the text of the page down each time it loads a photo.
Just want to put one more picture here. I was at the game and there were more Rockets fans than Nets fans over there. I took this picture at the game.
Ha hah! Apparently, Yao can sometimes give us home court advantage on the road, too. I never thought about it that way but I guess that is a less obvious bonus of having Yao as a Rocket.
Dude, you don't have to polarize the situation by making this a 'you' against 'the rest of us' debate. If you still are not aware of, I am with everyone else here looking for the best way to deal with the problem. I suggested using the ignore function as an alternative. You worried about someone quoting the pictures. I tried to explain to you that might only happen once in a few years. I thought we are working together to find a solution here, aren't we? The best solution, of course, is for Pryuen to use a spoiler, like someone has suggested, or just post a link to the pictures. But what about if Pryuen refuses to do anything about it? Well, either his posting privilege has to be taken away or the other posters have to do something to deal with the problem. So what could we do? (1) Use the stop button. I have suggested doing this in another thread. But, IIRC, someone pointed out that it wouldn't work all the time to stop the picture loading. (2) Use th ignore function. Yes in this case, once in a few years, some random idiot would quote all the pictures and that would annoy the heck out of you. I know we have nothing against Pryuen so no one wants to put him on ignore list if we don't have to. But this would probably be the last alternative if nothing else works. Do you have other suggestions?
