then what about the rest of our starters? in a blow out game, with 4-5 min left, the opponents already cleared their bench, what's a better time to give vspan, jl3, and novak a chance to play? what is wrong with jvg!

isn't it a bit obvious? it's like they've put in four new guys with the injuries and returning players...

I looked at it as punishment for the piss poor play the night before. He wanted to send them a message, b/c he wasn't able to run/practice them hard after the Pacers game.....I was screaming at the tv for him to at least take T-Mac out.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe Yao was the primary option when he was in the game and all plays were designed to feed him. That was the game plan from the coach and as a great glue guy, Battier tried very hard to feed Yao. Now that Yao is out, the game plan calls for him to step up and provide offense and he has. This is a sign of a great team player with skills.

There is no reason to call him any "names" on offense because he plays within the game plan. He is going to be the primary scorer until Tmac returned to full strength so his numbers will be pretty good for a while.

There is a reason why he is so well liked and made Team USA. You can't have 5 superstars on a team, not enough balls to go around. But with Battier, he can defer and can fill it up if need be. Great guy to have on the team.

JVG is real stubborn and still probably didn't trust the lead since we've blown so many this year..

Also another thing to remember, last year, the Nets had a game in hand against us with possession of the ball on the last play... Usually you just dribble out the ball until time expires, but Jason Kidd showed poor sportsmanship and assisted RJ for a 3 at the buzzer to complete a tripple-double. I have a weird feeling JVG might have had that in the back of his mind..

yeah, once I totally logged out of LP Broadband and clicked it didn't work for me either. Don't know why I thought that would work, too easy. Nonetheless, the highlights link works, so if you ever miss a game and want to see highlights its there.

Maybe he wanted Tracy to get more playing time with the rest of the regulars to get him back into the flow. After the game, apparently Tracy said he needed the extra playing time (according to Feigen).

I find it ridiculously stupid to play anyone returning from the latest bout with a chronic back injury major minutes in a back-to-back game situation. Ridiculously stupid.

The Nets' Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson combined to make just 11 of 40 shots.
