Oh, and when we did get a "win over the Net"? Did I miss something? No offense, and I mean this in the most respectful way, but isn't every basketball game won "over the Net"? I think that winning a basketball game "beside the Net," "behind the Net," or "perpendicular to the Net" might sound somewhat awkward. So, I like that: "win over the Net." Oh, and I had another request: when you get a chance, could you possibly email me the survey you took of all the basketball fans in the U.S. outside of Houston? The one in which "everyone outside Houston agreed Francis is a way overrated player." I think that would be a fascinating read. You know, being in Houston, you don't get much of an outside perspective (it's really bad here- they don't let us watch any basketball games except for Houston Rockets games, so we don' t get much of a chance to see other teams). So, I would really be interested to see how the rest of the country views SF. I don't know about the other posters, but I think you should be welcome here anytime. It's refreshing to get an outsider's perspective, particularly with someone like yourself who makes clear, concise points. Thanks for caring enough about the Rockets to post here. Oh, I just got it! The win "over the Net" was the charity game- the Rockets starting five against Jason Kidd!! Darn, I forgot that they held that prior to the game against the Nets. Whew! Glad someone just reminded me. That was a fun game, too. Kidd actually took the lead in the early stages, until we started putting the defensive clamps down. Glad we raised money for charity, though.
The Lakers will rule this season! And yes, I wish Ming or his agent is reading this thread, and get the hell out of H town after next season. Go to LA or NY, man! Hmmmm. You had the 2 best players(okay maybe 1 and 3) in the league last year and couldn't win the big one. So you let payton and Malone use your team for one year so they can get their ring. I just don't get it- the only thing that would be more shocking to me would be if you predicted something like the Kansas City Chiefs are going to make the playoffs.
