Tracy is the best passer to Yao on the team for sure. However, last night in desperate situations, we saw that our guards were able to make lob passes to Yao with opposing player fronting him all night. This led me to think that it's not the guards that cannot pass to Yao, it's that they don't want to for some reason unless the Rockets are backed to the corner.

I was watching "Alien" for the first time ever last night (yea I don't watch enough good movies) and it ran a little over compared to the start of the game. Then I finally turned on the game and saw we were getting the f*ck beat out of us. And it would only get worst.

Absolutely ugly and disgusting loss - I am glad that I turned it off before the 4th quarter or I would have really really gotten upset.

Someone else said it best - no matter how much you lose by, a loss is a loss and it still sucks whether it was on a buzzer beater or a blowout. But my God, to get your ass kicked like that? That hurts even worse, IMO, because you, the fan, have to question the effort that your team gave.

Oh well, the Mavericks won't be around much longer and I will enjoy the asskicking the Suns will put on them. Maybe Amare will knock the hell out of that punk Howard.

did anyone notice that the one thing the rockets lacked in game 7 (backcourt speed as referenced by JVG)
was the one thing the rockets had last season and gave up in the trade for tracy.
although, i'm still EXTREMELY happy with the rockets to this point.
You got to lose before you can win, and this will serve notice to the team. with the right addition at power forward, this team i would say will win the division.........

Obviously, the Mavs run the picks a lot more when Yao is in there than when Deke is in there. And as you know, all our guys switch on picks. That's where the problem is and that's where a good denfensive PF would be helpful. Yao blocked FIVE shots and change some others. He also scored 33 (and averaged 21 pts on 65% shooting). How much more do you want from him last night?

In addition, the Mavs were making their OUTSIDE shots -- mostly LONG 2's and eight 3-pointers. Deke would not have helped much other than defensive plays inside. BESIDES, HE WAS IN THE GAME THE SECOND QUARTER and yet the Mav's lead was increasing.

I'm not trying to downplay Deke's role and his outstanding peformance in this series, but people need to lay off Yao.

    ******************

It was an enjoyable series. The first two wins got me really excited and hyped about this team. Despite losing the series, this team has played better than I expected. Our main guy's good play will only mean good things for the future. I'm hyped up about next season already! TMAC will be back next season. Yao will be back. Hopefully, Van Gundy will be back also. And so will I.

    Laters!

I seriously thought Rockets would take it in Dallas.
That was an extremely pitiful showing last night, not to mention the 40pt losing record set. ugh....:(
    WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED ROCKETS?!?!?!?!
It wasnt the damn refs, it wasnt Dallas' line-up, I just dont believe anything changed throughout the series except the players attitudes and hot/cold factor. So it goes........

Anyhow, all in all a great experience for the team and T-mac and Yao to gel together. I predict an even better year next time around!

It's a disappointing loss, but all in all it is a great season, considering all the changes, injuries and Yao and Tmac 1st year being together.

If CD & Rockets do a decent job (not necessary as fantastic as this season) in offseason, no major injuries next season, and same seeding rules as this season, I am sensing that Rockets and Mavericks will meet again next season in the first round, only Rockets will have the home court advantage this time and Rockets will beat Maverick in 6 games.

This is apparently what happens when Dallas is clicking on all cylinders. They completely played their game and took us out of our game. They used all their strengths and made no mistakes. This game was all about quickness and defense. They had it and we didn't. Looking back...I'm surprised we won 3 games as the Mavs just didn't play their brand of defense in those other games. If their actually playing that level of defense the whole series, then this series is over a lot sooner. They finally figured out that you don't try to shut out Yao and Tracy. You shut out all the other players. Then, we don't have enough offensive production to be competitive. It was a brilliant defensive gameplan by Avery and it worked to the letter.

The bottom line is the Rockets need some new role players who are as versatile as Terry, Stackhouse, and Howard. Those guys were huge for Dallas in every way. Their talent level clearly was several notches above anything we had to counter with. I don't know where Dallas got these guys but they are very talented and can clearly play the game on both ends of the floor.

It sucks we got the crap kicked out of us. We may not crap again for a week after that pounding. But, life goes on. Every time any of you Texan fans start using that 19-10 HOU over DAL win you go on and on about always...be prepared for the counter of 116-76 DAL over HOU.

No kidding. I wont count Braggs. But ward, mooch, spoon, baker combine for 18 mil on the pay roll? Save those money to re-up with Yao and nice PF!

When all is said and done, I haven't liked a team more than this one; okay maybe the 93 and 94 teams, but it's been over 10 years since I loved a team as much as the won that lost last night. Yep, we got blown out, but for some strange reason, I'm not that bitter. Maybe it's because we have a great GM, a great coach, and 2 of the best young superstars in the league. I'm also not worried about either leaving in the next 4 years, so all is not lost. If we make one or two moves this summer, I bet we finish in the top 3 in the West next year (and that's not overestimating us). We got off to a horrible start (brand new team), and we still won over 50 games. We definately should have beaten Dallas, but we are a bit too slow to hang with the Suns and the Spurs. Hopefully we'll make those adjustments in the off-season, and be better than we were this year. I think, all things considered, year one of the T-Mac/ Yao era went pretty well.

Oh yeah, I am not sure that Swift is the answer. Maybe if he can develop an 18 footer.

Not a reshuffle so much as a Youth Injection.

Sura, Barry, Wesley and company are great gritty players but they just aren't good enough to be starters or the first guys off the bench, they are the John Paxon typle players....the 7 8 and 9 guys off the bench.

We need to inject some players like J Howard - the one that plays for Atlanta not Dallas - that kid would be be perfect for our team.

They say the magic age for winning championships is 27 for a superstar.

    McGrady is 25.

    Gotta love the future.
