On the plus side, Yao was only called for 1 ticky tack foul and was strong inside.

He fought for rebounds, altered shots, and went strong to the hole, dunking far more times than Ive ver seen.

The missed FT's aside, the Van Gundy fine might have done some good - no ticky tack fouls.

    Game 6 will be ours.

Does anyone else have the urge to pop one to Josh Howard's Forrest Gump face? That boy is getting on my nerves with his cheap shots.

2 pages and a lot about missed free-throws and refereeing (admittedly horrible at the end), I figured. As I said in another thread, missed free throws are a part of life. Yao isn't a choker, nor is McGrady, man how some of you guys change your tune... do any of you remember the game McGrady had in game 1 and 2? Yao had 30pts tonight and hit shot after shot in the fourth. No way they are chokers, at least not so far in this series.

Guys, the biggest culprit was our giving up 5-7 offensive rebounds in the fourth quarter alone. Esp. the one play in which we gave up 4 off. boards on one possession. Eventually Terry ended up going to the line, missed the second, Dirk got the board and hit two more FTs. That was the difference 4 times overs right there.

I have more faith now in game 6 and 7 than I did before this game. Go Rockets.

    Stuart

Edit: I said 10+ off rebounds initally when it was only 5-7 offensive rebounds in the 4th.

From looking at the Rox record this year---most of the losing streaks topped off at 3-and then we would go on to a 3-5 game winning streak. I'm hoping this is another one of those sequences and we finish the Mavs off at their arena!

Okay, so WTF happens now with the refs.

Will JVG go off again. Jesus, will Les? Does he do so behind the scenes? How in the frak can he not go into a rage.

Clutch, someone - wtf does Les do in these situations.

Jesus, sometimes with these calls I wonder why we bother playing, man. I mean, great - so even the TNT guys called out the refs - but so what?

Is the league gonna look at it, grade the refs, and then issue an apology in August?

Why do we have to "wait our turn?" Why are we "too young?"
WTF is Dallas? They are a crap team. Who outside of DFW wants to see that bland team advance? Uggghhh.

What kind of league allows its zebras to influence its games so much.

NBA refs make MLB umps & their strike zone seem like parable of consistency.

Even with foul trouble, Yao played a great game. Just the missed FTs............ Ugh.
I fully believe TMac+Yao -> Dynasty. This off season is important.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. Every big winning streak would be followed by 3 straight losses. It's uncanny how it would happen each time.

mavs still don't have an answer to our PnR, yao got half his points points from that move alone, and we got their whole front line with five fouls each. Mavs are not good at defending the paint and we need to capitalize on that. Their self-proclaimed 2nd best center in the league had an awesome 1 pt, 1 rb, 2 to and 5 pf game.

It's a close game. It is a close series. We will win in the end!

But the series has showed that
    (1) Mavs is a more balanced team with more fire power. They can win a game when their "super" star is not super. Unfortunately Rox needs to have their two top guns running at least 80% of full speed to win a game. (see box scores) As super stars are human beings and they make mistakes, the difference shows now.

    (2) How important the team defense is, especially at the end of the game. Good D brought us back to the game. Bad D sent us to the hole again. 3 consecutive open shots in the 4th quarter were just unforgivable. Concentrate and play smart ball!!

T-Mac and Yao, step up to prove the world that you are the next dominating duo!

Our role players, show the world that though you are old, you still can run, chase enemy down and hit one big shot and another!

We are from ClucthCity!!!! We believe

Does the fact that the team missed FTs mean that the refs didn't cost us the game?

If anything, it means that Dallas sucked too, so both teams sucked equally, with the deciding factor being the refs.

Stop being b*tches and blaming your own team for the loss. Without the refs, the Rockets would have won...bottom line.

This series has shown how fatal the inside-outside punch by Yao and Tmac can be. All we need is to fill in the other pieces, a defensive PF, a real PG, etc. I feel more confident than ever that a Rockets dynasty is coming soon. GO ROCKETS!!!

That zebra pic that Keely posted just makes me sick - I feel like losing my cookies.

That being said, I can't see us laying down for the next game. One victory at a time...
