Are you for the Rox or Mavs?

Why do you say Rox have accomplished what the needed to do in Dallas if you don't think they are not going to win the series anyway.

So what you're saying Rox accomplished what is needed so you prediction of Dallas in 7 will be true?

Tonight will be a big W for Rockets. They still cannot stop Tmac. Yao steps up big this time. So this would be an easy win. Let's sweep the Mavericks!

Until the Mavs Or Fa%s prove otherwise that they can contain us Rockets by 10 Jvg i feel is the smartest coach in the N.B.A. at having a team ready and everyone is talking about the Mavs coming out fired up but Tmac is going to be on the same high level and i think yao will come out to prove his last game was not himself.

This win would be huge. A loss will hurt myself badly, but it depends on how we play as to where this series goes.

We're inside the Mav's head and as long as we don't get blown out tonight we'll still be there. I expect a bad first half tonight, and then a Rox win.

I've got one there as well, but man, those guys are major league jerks. I've never seen a bigger bunch of whiny babies, I'm sure it stems from their overblown expectations of their team, I guess winning 58 games will do that to you. You'd swear that they've never seen another NBA team play except the Mavs...all you see is F-houston, f-mcgrady, Damp killed Yao on Sat...etc,etc. Real classy site, but what can you expect when their own moderaters have to come over here and pretend they're Jim Rome.
Mav-talk is even worse, don't ever try to post there unless you like to be cursed at and ridiculed by idiotic homers that think it's cool to bash everyone that doesn't have their noses up the mavs' asses. I've never registered there and never will. If you go to any other BBS you'll see the majority of people favor us b/c they hate the Mavs...I wonder why.

Mavs became a media darling when Mark Cuban bought the team and did what it took to resurrect this franchise from the dead. Plus you have his much publicized feuding with the league and David Stern so he's definitely "colorful" and high profile and the media loves these type of guys because they make good "copy".

And you are basically correct in that most of the folks up here are attributing the Rockets' win more to what the Mavericks did wrong than to what the Rockets did right. I have listened to the sports talk shows all day on ESPN and KTCK and the consensus has been that it was the Maverick failure to excute their offense while the Rockets played better. OR, that the Mavericks were over confident. OR that the Mavericks were tenative. OR that the Mavericks were not ready to play. OR a combination of the above.

I knew from watching their last 25 games that the Mavericks were not the juggernaut that folks up here were making them out to be and that the Rockets were not as hopelessly mismatched as some wanted to believe. This belief has come from years of watching this team (Mavs) and how it goes about its business. Case in point: At this year's trading deadline, the Mavericks, when faced with the injury to Dampier and the need to solidify their interior defense, went out and got Keith Van Horne. At the same time, The Spurs go out and get Nazr Mohammad who has been paying huge dividends for them . That move convinced me that while the Mavericks' organization talks a good game about being defensively tougher and so on, deep down they are the same old offensively minded run-and-gun Mavericks who are willing to pay $15 million a year for a soft offensive player who plays no defense.

The Mavericks may yet right their ship and take this series as many have predicted but Saturday I saw something I haven't seen in years. I saw a Rockets TEAM play with such heart, determination and passion that my heart was filled with pride. The last time I saw a Rocket team play this way they won their second world championship. No matter what happens in this series, we should all appreciate and salute this total team effort.

One role that Vin Baker seems to have thrived on this team.... leading the bobbing huddle after the starting lineups have been introduced, and probably initiating the "chant" or whatever they do.

    here is my math:

we won by 12. dirk will score 10 more points than he did in game one. so we should still win by 2. tmac will miss more than 3 shots this game, so we lose (lets say he goes 10-17) 8 points. now we are down by 6.

    the reason we win:

the FT's will even out. it should be around 25-30 attempts for each team. that gives them 12 less ft's and us about 5-10 more. that is more than enough to make up a 6 point hole.

    ROX:104

    we win! enjoy ;)

    GO ROX!!!

My appologies too Clutch, beforehand; But I have never been able to get into chat and have no other way to follow the game than here. For sure, play by play is not needed, but frequent scoring updates with opinions on the trend of play are VERY MUCH appreciated here.

    TIA, Win

We need to withstand the early Dallas adrenaline...

If we can do that, this game is very very very much in our favor.
