I am a little concerned because Tmac had to play 47 minutes in game 1. I am not sure if he will have enough gas to average 47 minute per game for playoff series. Yao has to play better, much better for Rockets to win game 2, because Dallas will come out with more intensity and you just can't ask much more out of Tmac.

I hope Rockets will win. If Rockets win, it will probably be determined by the last one or two possesion.

Edit: In order for a team to be successful in playoff, their star players have to have better stat than in regular season. In Yao's case, he should average at least 20+pt AND 10+ rb. So if Rockets win in game 2, I predict Yao will have: 26+ pt AND/OR 14+ rb.

I have good feelings about this game. Yao will dominate this game and win the game for us!

Wow, I didn't realize it was that much. Well, the only and only good thing about this r****ded playoff schedule that allows a day off between each game is that it gives T-Mac more time than usual to rest. He'll have had over a day, so hopefully he'll feel normal. Yet, another reason Yao needs to stay out of trouble and have a big game. If he's drawing double teams like he should and existing as a focal point of the offense, then JVG should have time to rest T-Mac a little more and limit him to 40.

    I'm so nervous!!

JVG has these guys so mentally prepared, anything but a 2-0 lead is less than adequate. we know we can stop them, I dont think Dallas will have answers for us today...

meanwhile, I am going to see Bob Dylan and Merle Haggard at the Beacon Theater in NYC tonight. the show starts at 7:30, the game starts at 9:30, I should be able to catch the third or fourth quarter
    of action.....

    GO ROCKETS

basiacally the options are: tmac plays 40 to 46 mins per game in 7 games.. or 46 to 48 mintes per game in 4 games..

I think Yao will have a big game in a loss. The Mavs will attack the basket and get every call. NBA officiating has no integrity. The refs will make sure the Mavs stay in the game.

What I saw in Game 1 was a Mavs team that was unsure of itself and a Rockets team that played focused and as if they had been there before.

I think our veteran savvy showed up, and the Mavs lack of it showed as well.

JVG is a MUCH better coach than the greenhorn Avery Johnson. Sure Avery has a championship, but that was as a player, not a coach. Fact is that Avery is a rookie coach, guiding a young team in the playoffs.

I saw nothing that would lead me to believe the Mavs could beat the Rockets 4 out of 6 times, which is what they would have to do to win the series now.

I hope the consensus about Yao breaking out tonight is true, as we can sure use a big game from the big guy.

I think Yao will play well, put in about 18pts and grab 10 boards, 2 blocks. Mutumbo will compliment nicely, as he always does. McGrady will be hindered by double and triple teams, but will still put up 26pts. Mike James comes thru again off the bench and the Rockets take Game 2, leaving the Mavs bewildered.

    Rockets 101
    Mavs 93

BTW, watching the Nuggets beat the Spurs last night was awesome!! F THE SPURS!

i didn't know much about NBA basketball .

But from rocket2K highlight on Game 1, Rocke's speed is extraordinary faster than Dallas . So it could dominate the tempo and owned Dallas.

Great game 1, however I do think the Rockets can improve on some things.

Passing. T-Mac was the only player who created for others with the pass, Sura, Barry, Wesley, and James have to help.

Rebounding. I think the Mavs got 20 or close to 20 offensive rebounds, can't give up that many again.

Foul shooting. Mavericks shot 2 times as many free throws as the Rockets shot.

Yao. They gotta get him the ball, that should also help T-Mac, he won't be as tired in the fourth quarter.

Shouldn't complain when they win, but IMO it won't be as easy of a victory if they don't improve on those things.

    Rockets - 102

    Mavericks - 96

I heard some guy say on ESPN that he couldn't imagine the Rockets playing any better. I STRONGLY disagree.

    Rockets 110
    Mavericks 94

Well.....That was A FUN WEEKEND in Dallas !!!! Yeah Baby !!!
As I mentioned Friday, the guy who sings the anthem (my best buddy who moved up there 12 years ago), had to sit with yours truly and his two buddies, as I stood and screamed on every shot, and generally raised hell. I had my custom Rockets flashing hat on for when they lowered the lights to introduce the ponies, that pissed them off big time, and every time they clanked a foul shot I would jump up and "Donk" ohhh " I mean Dirk..." Eventually as I did the DK shuffle as they played their watered down hip hop muzak ( so white bread dallas dont cha know?) three guys behind me went crazy and one actrully HIT ME WITH HIS STUPID PONIES STICKS,, i am NOT kidding..it got ugly...I just said he was a sore loser and not to take it personally..then he goes crazy and calls me a moron...something you dont wanna do....so then I started my hey let's party dallas cheer, and then all the fat old ladies stting in the expensive seats looked like they were sucking on prunes or something..man was I on a role..having three big dudes there who were mavs fans didn't hurt, as a they said, "scott we've got yer back,"...they just kept buying the beer...what the helll. what a weekend..that was about as good as it gets..they of course started mocking the Yao MIng song.I just said you guys have no clue about whats going to happen...it was beyond beautiful......then they had to buy the steak dinners too !!!! YEAH BABY>>> Go Rockets !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ridiculous quote of game 1: "These are two of the best coaches in the league...." What? The little Genital has 20 career games & he's one of the best coaches in the league ? I beg to differ: Mavs get frustrated, boos reign down: Rox by a dozen!

I have looked into my crystal ball and I have seen what will decide this game.....

    THE OFFICIALS....

Think about it....they did everything they could to keep the Mavs in the game and we still won...meaning its going to be worse today.

If Nowitzki really intends to post up more, can you imagine the number of fouls that are going to be called. Before he even makes his move I can hear the whistle already. The officiating in game 1 was an absolute joke, I can't believe the desparity has not been brought up once in the media.

    Bottom Line:

If the officiating does not improve we will lose this game....I dont want us to lose but you know we will be pulled right out of it if everytime Dirk drops his shoulder & plows into the defense he gets a foul....firing up the crowd even more

    Rox: 91
    Mavs: 90

    or

    Mavs: 92
    Rox: 91
