You got too much feeling on Ming. First, 11pts, 4+4rebs is not too bad a stat. Second, his foul trouble limited his minutes. You can say he did not play smart, but how do you know he played without heart?

Everyone is praising deke and bashing Yao because most of us are expecting him to have a better game and contribute more to the team's success.. If you compare the stats,

    Ming C 20 3-8 5-6 4 4 8 0 6 0 2 1 11
    Mutombo 27 1-3 6-7 3 5 8 1 4 0 0 0 8

I would say Ming did an OK job. Definitely not crap. No one in this Rockets team did crap today.

you can criticize yao whatever you want: he did not have a great game for sure; but to claim that he did not play well because he played with no heart is pure bull sht. It does not surprise me though since this is from the 'formerlly know as h-in-ny, and before that known as newyorker".

That really shows how irrational you are. either great or sucky? No middle ground? that's new to me. Of course he doesn't need people making excuses for him, do you really think he would read your or mine posts? But guess what, he doesn't need people making irrational accusation for him either. After a great road win in playoffs, people replied to your posts, not because you hurt their feelings, they just want to show you how ridiculous you are.

Sorry but you need to stop the hating. Yao(20 minutes) played 7 minutes less than Mutombo(27 minutes) but scored three more points, had the same rebounds and one more block. Yet you are questioning his heart. Yao fouled out in 20 minutes and yes, it's an excuse to say that the refs shafted him!

Am I also free to tell you to just shut up? We won against the heavily favored Mavericks! S-H-U- oh, never mind. Hate all you want.

h-in-ny? never known as that buddy boy.

Frankly, I'm not a big Yao fan. Everyone here knows that. Let's not mince words. I'm not the "Yao Hater" everyone makes me out to be, because I recognize his place on this team and I know for us to have a shot at a title, he needs to play better.

Ok, we won tonight. Why criticize the guy right? Because his effort is good enough tonight...but it won't be good enough in a few weeks. He needs to get it together. He needs to get angry and not frustrated. he needs to play with heart...not just hard, not just trying to the right thing, he needs to play with fire.

Certain players step it up in the postseason. T-mac is one of them, thus far in the playoffs, Yao is not. Now, there really isn't anything else to say.

Maybe you should watch wrestling instead, coz there are far more "aggression", "fire", and maybe some fake "hearts"? The team plays for the win, not to show "fire" to you. Now, you admit that's all your opinions, NOT those bold truths you made it like. By the way, please explain that "softness with which he approached the game" to us, if you don't mind. Hopefully, you did NOT just copy something from your posts two years ago and pasted here. Of course you don't hate Yao Ming, you just want to see fire in a basketball game, everything else is secondary. By the way, what's your All NBA Fire Team?

It's just one game. I remember that yao played fine in last year's playoff. He will bounce back. No need to spit on him now.

Mutombo saved face for Yao. No question that Yao has to play smarter to last at least 30 minutes, dammit. I don't care about his numbers for now. He has to experience playoff basketball.

    Did anyone see this?

Maybe that explains why Johnson lost his cool at game's end. After giving referee Joey Crawford an earful over the last minute, he kept talking while walking off the court after the final buzzer. Crawford turned away laughing, which sent Johnson hustling back at him. A Houston official pulled Johnson away.

Game 1 Postgame thread - Rockets lead series 1-0

I will eventually merge the two threads in to one game thread, but with all the traffic trying to hit that monster thread, I need to start over so I can let non-contributors back in.

Early version of the recap ...

Great win. A great defensive game by our back court, we completely shut down the Mavs's transtion game, which has been Mavs' strength.

    Great game plan!

All I have to say about this is directed to the damn national media and everyone who says....Who's goin to stop Dirk!

Hope they are ready to answer the same question with a twist...who the hell is going to stop McGrady....did they forget that little detail? Or were they too busy hangning from the Mavericks cajones like the commentators today.

We basically lead the whole game and they couldn't stop talking about the Mavericks...give me a break..HELLO!!! THEY ARE LOSING!!!" even had time to talk to the retired old Cowgirl Aikwoman while not giving props to the rockets....

All i have to say is that i am damn glad we arent getting respect because the last time that happened we won the championship thanks to the help of a one CHUCKY "WHO?" BROWN....this year it's BOWENS turn to let Dirk have nightmares about him and answer all the people out there....

Who's going to stop Nowitzki....give me a break...we have a superstar as well....
