Was this game shown on ESPN only or was it also on FSN?
If it was also shown on FSN did they say if/when it would be re-broadcast?

I loved this. The Mavs made it a little scary today at times, but the Rockets kept coming back with the right answer. It was sweet.

My FSN was blacked out on Direct Tv. I think that might have been the case because the Maverick announcers were calling the game. Game 2, 4 and i think 6 will be on Channel 51 KNWS.

GREAT GAME ROCKETS~~~~ It is funny how the whiners from Dallas now want to blame Joey Crawford. Here in denver we are used to the carmello whiners .

Love my rockets even here in the mile hi city

I had to go to a fundraiser and missed most of the game. On the way back at around 6:30PM I turned on the radio and heard the Rox up with about 9 min. to go. I found a bar and pulled in and caught about the last 6 min.. Bought a beer and a burger and left 50 min. later with the Rox sticking it to the Mavs! :D

Best impulsive stop for a burger and beer that I can remember!

    GO ROX!

Yao didn't play up to his abilities tonight but I'm sure Yao will play better next game .

The situation isn't as bad when you look at it as Dallas centers vs. the Houston Centers

    Yao 11pts 8 reb

    Deke 8pts 8 reb

That's 19 pts 16 rebounds from our centers...

    For the Mavs--

    Dampier 7 pts 7 rebounds

    Bradley O pts O rebounds

The Dallas center "combo" only scored 7 pts, 7 reb total..

    :D

It just goes to show how absolutely spoiled the Mavs fans are. I mean, Dirk gets EVERY benefit of the doubt and they go to the line 42 times to our 20. The officiating is always one-sided against the Rockets yet we learn to deal with it. After reading what those whiney babies had to say about being "shafted" by the officials, I despise the Mavericks even more.

Very nice post-game conf for JVG, I wish R2K can include it in his game torrent:)

Anyways, JVG made a passing remark calling out the refs, when he was asked about why they fouled so much, he said "well, I don't know if we fouled a lot!" (he said it smiling and the reporters laughed at that, they knew what he was talking about).

JVG clearly was unable to hold back his joy, he had a smirk on his face the whole time (bad poker face JVG, bad poker face:D )

When he was asked about T-Mac, JVG was stutering, not ssemingly able to find the words to describe the performance:D , but then he proceeded to talk up McGrady and said that T-Mac must be on the "short list" of MVPs this season. He praised him a LOT, including his Defensive ability, and why they made the trade for him, and how he was impressed with T-Mac back when he was in toronto and he coached against him (back with the Knicks). So basically a lot of praise for T-Mac.

But JVG was CLEARLY giddy, he was in a nice mood for sure. I guess there wasn't too much he didn't like about the game:)

Jeff Van Gundy won this game. The man is brilliant! The entire game plan was brilliant! Pick and roll to death, Bowen/McGrady on Dirk, brilliant!

I hate it when lousy announcers claim how Houston couldn't have played a better game when Yao had an offday.

Yao played like crapola. 11pts and 8 rebs aside (which are not all-star numbers), the guy just didn't look good. There was one sequence where Dallas looked like he was going to break the record for offensive rebounds for one possession - I counted 7...but mercifully the ref called a foul to stop the embarrasment.

Thankfully, the Rockets are a pretty good team aside from Yao...but the guy is going to have to pick up his game if we are going to have any hopes of being a contender.

Judging by this stat line it doesn't look like Dampier was even the second best center in arena let alone the NBA.

Did anyone notice how Avery Johnson had like a constant stream of substitution in the 1st half? I swear, he kept rotating and rotating players in and out, and I really think this over-adjustment hurt the Mavs in generating any rythem in the first half. This really made me appreciate the system that JVG runs...night in, night out we know what to expect from JVG's system, and more importantly so do our players.
