I've been following the NBA for almost 40 years, and I get tired of the argument of how certain players would be flawed in different eras. I personally think the game overall is better than it was then, without all the pushing and grabbing they got away with.

I'm not saying that Dirk's overall game is comparible to Bird's, but I still think he would've a great scorer during that era as well.

Meh, this is nothing. I recall during the 70s when on some nights at Hofheinz Pavilion, attendance was in the hundreds (yes, one night there were maybe 200 people at a Rockets game). Another night, folks got so mad at the Rockets they started throwing glass onto the court at Calvin Murphy. Things didn't get much better at the Summit - I call recall when it was so bad, you could get a ticket to a Rockets game by showing up with a Rainbow Bread wrapper. And if you think what's happening to the Rockets is bad, just imagine how folks in Golden State, Milwaukee & Washington must feel. GS last won in 1975. Milwaukee in 1971 and Washington in 1978. Now that's futility!
