Just worry about Terry. He is our only real threat. We can contain Howard and Dirk.

Oh wait, we have to contain the second best center in the NBA

Perfect analysis. No way Mavs tank this one only to face us in the first round.

6th seed as opposed to 7th. If they finish 6th and 7 upset 2, they have homecourt in the 2nd round. Certainly not a reason to take the night off and give the Rockets the division.

well obviously, the 6th seed. But I understand that they could play anyone one of the 4 teams.

However, for mentality reasons, a team would feel more confident being in the 6th seed rather than the 7th seed, even though it is in the same bracket.

So, I think the Mavs are playing for confidence.

Dallas want a win for a potentially manu-less spurs matchup. But obviouly the Rockets have much more to fight for

line has now moved and Rockets are -1 across the board. suggesting early money is being bet on houston.

side note: Denver Nuggets to win is 2.5-1. I know its hard to win in Portland but with what they have to play for, definitely worth a nibble for me. Wouldn't be a crazy result whatsoever.

This is exactly right. The ideal scenario from a Mavs fan's perspective is to land the number 6 by beating the Rox and NO losing, which would put SA at number 3. Playing a depleted team that they match up well against is much better for the Mavs than landing the Rox or Denver in the first round. They still have a lot to play for.

This is the BIGGEST game of the season.

It basically decides if we have home court or not since the league robbed the Blaers and Rockets by giving the Sperms the win the other night.

I think Dallas would prefer either playing us or the spurs.

1, depleted spurs, but they still got games
    2. Rox without Tmac and never exited the first round (which is going to change)

Personally, i prefer playing NO, second Dalai, and then PORKlands.

    This is a must win.

    Tight game, Rox by 3.

    Yao 46pts 15rbs 3blks so he averages 20/10/2 :D

Generally, the rule of thumb is that the home team gets a 3-pt cushion. So basically, for Vegas to give dallas -1, that means that they feel like the Rockets are 2 pts better than them in this particular game, which in essence is turning this into a pick'em game. People betting on the game must have a pretty even split on who they have winning. This is gonna be a fun night. God, I hope the Rockets win.

Dallas has been scoring tons of points lately, and they are pretty motivated too. I look for this to be a good game, not an easy one. Go Rockets!

just wanted to make sure someone wasn't blindly betting the Nuggets now...if you want to bet the nuggets tonight best time to do it would be late in the Rockets game. If Rockets win , Nuggets will play hard of course, if Rox lose, i envision Karl limiting starters as the 2 seed will have been sewn up.

    just saying. Go Rox!!

    Definitely an important game.

    1. Sets the tone for the playoffs.
    2. Establishes whether we can win on the road.
    3. Are we mentally tough enough to win a game where we can lock up the SW division and HCA. Good teams win big games like this.
    4. A loss does so much damage to the team psychology.
