Are you kidding? Dirk got maybe two calls that were really questionable. Even if every free throw he shot was just an affront to the rules of basketball, that doesn't excuse the pathetic display the Rockets put on for the last 36 minutes of the game.

I don't think this game was well-officiated by any stretch of the imagination, but the Rockets are much more to blame for this loss than the refs. Anyone who says otherwise is just showing embarrassing homerism. They are stretched too thin by injuries and have too many players that don't know the offense to be successful in the long run.

I didn't know that losing your two best players to injury (David Robinson & Sean Elliot) for most of the season was considered tanking.

I don't think that guy was hating on Lowry.

Superstar bias makes game no fun

New poster here. I agree...everyone plays by one set of rules...then the Dirks,Kobes etc play by another. The refs have made it impossible to play defense on these guys. They blow the whistle because they THINK there must have been a foul . Sad state of affairs. If Hakeem got these calls, he would have scored 50 pts. a game.

Did you even watch the NBA back then? Robinson was healthy towards the end of the season and everyone knew it. Yet the Spurs realizing that it was pointless to get an extra couple of wins and knowing that that draft was a pile of crap outside of Duncan, deliberately kept him on the bench. The plan worked to perfection as they overcame huge odds (The Celtics had like 1000 more ping pong balls and ended up with two top 5 picks Ron Mercer and Chauncey Billups who did NOTHING) and landed Duncan.

    The rest is history.

Was a hard fought game under adverse circumstances: playing at Dallas when the Rockets are on the back-end of b2b and the Mavs are rested, not to mention Lowry and Martin being out and the last game going to OT. Still rooting for the team.

Bud is a sharpshooter who misses. So why do we have him?

He's shooting a career best .403 from the arc. Not sure what your point is.

The Spurs' season was already in the crapper when they decided to sit Robinson instead of putting him on the floor. I agree that they sat Robinson when he could have been playing, but it seemed as much a precautionary measure for Robinson's future health as it was a move to bolster their draft position. That's why I don't consider what happened to be tanking.

McHale did too much subbing starting in the latter part of the second half. We were doing great before Dragic was benched in the second half. Patterson and Bud didn't do a damn thing for us. Patterson isn't a solid back up.

Rockets Team Needs a Defensive Revalation

This team does not play consistent team defense and you can't blame this on Coach McHale (who was a great team defensive player), Camby, Lowry, Dalembert etc. This is just a bad defensive team. And when you put Scola, Budinger, Dragic, Parsons and Patterson out there, you'll never get a stop. And contrary to what Bill says, a missed shot is not a defensive stop!

Called this one; the Rockets fought hard but ran out of gas. Our best chance to beat them was in Houston. Folks, getting to playoffs is going to be tough.

No it wasn't. You can't call a poor offensive display great defense! When are you basketball fans ever going to understand that! Great defense? Look at Boston when they won; look at Kobe and Shaq when they won. Look at San Antonio when Timmy was younger. LOOK AT HAKEEM AND MARIO, ET ALL WHEN WE WON. That first quarter was very good offense for Houston and bad offense for Dallas - not good first quarter defense!

OUCH is right, Buddy. I think we should try Camby at 4 and Dalembert at 5 with Scola and Parsons splitting time at the 3. Patterson backing up Camby. Lee at the 2 with Grogic at point. But Grogic is too inconsistent to be playing NBA point. We are suffering at point.

god how disappointing. I was at work and saw Houston up big, like 16. The it slowly dwindled down...and down...... and down. and then suddenly I notice that after having 49 at the half, they only had 55 with 4min left in the 3rd. W T F? They only scored 6 points in 8 minutes?????? and only 12 in the 3rd and only 29 in 2 quarters?????????

Mavs didnt even play well, dammit we just sucked really bad after the first and squandered a great opportunity. I mean, I know we're missing our starting backcourt and really nothing can be counted on this season - BUT we were playing well IN DALLAS and just had to have "average" freakin' quarters to win.

Terry didn't even have a great night, but did have a 7pt-run stretch. I swear... 81pts? geez. What a waste.

at least PHX, Blazers and Minnesota lost. I'd rather not get buried at the bottom... just worry about Utah and Denver. ugh, why cant those f'ers lose too. I'm so tired of being heavily injured. Its one thing to not expect much from a season, but when God can't even give you health during a season that only shows mediocre promise... what does THAT say!?

    cursed.

BTW - by losing these 2 games against the Mavs they hold the tie breaker against us now, since we only play them 3 times I believe.

Forget about this.... Best way is hoard talent and get to the playoffs easily .. better than catfighting our way into it.
