This is the reason why we need yao, the records dont really show all, without yao we can win against average and bad teams, but we cant win against good teams without yao.

The reason that Van Gundy doesn't want McGrady bringing the ball up is because it creates so much stress on McGrady's back. McGrady's got to bend down into a crouch to protect the ball and doing that for 40 mpg would take a lot out of his jump shot, not to mention aggravate an already bad back.

Agreed. It is not exactly how much more brilliant AJ is than JVG. Dallas simply has more weapons and is more talented in average than the current Houston team. Why? Their payroll is about 95 Mil. compared to 63 Mil for Houston. Imagine what you would get for that extra 32 Mil? Even with that, I will still take my chance with Houston in the playoffs when Yao and Tmac are fully healthy.

Well, Kobe and the Big Gimp...errr...Ticket's T-Puppies lost to the worst team in the league today.

I think saving other major injuries to starters, this team has all but locked the 5th seed.

    1. refs sucked big time
    2. no fire from the rockets
    3. our worst mistake was not putting TMac (2nd quarter) until the lead swindled away and momentum shifted
    4. we saw that kirk snyder can be a helluva 6th man if he could shoot (he can, just didn't tonight)
    5. we held dirk, yet again
    6. i hated that stupid crackpot mattress-mac wannabe who cheered with those two clappers in his hands the whole game (dude sitting court side across from macs bench- was wearing green, white hair, braided hair, and it was just gruesome)
    7. vasillis showed why he is so good at point guard position... (MUCH better than John Lucas, even after he got the ball with 10 secs left, he consistently reset the game and made stellar passes... yes, DaDakota, some of them were even Steve Nash-like....
    8. oh- and Novak can't play defense for his life (which is not good for JVG's receding hair line which is already down the back of his head  )
    9. and i loved how bill worrell and matt bullard were wrong on every single call... when they sed bad call, replay showed otherwise, vise versa...

life will still go on ;)

VSpan played better than JLIII AND Luther tonight. In fact, he was probably the 3rd most effective player tonight behind TMac and Rafer.

He played better... when it was already over and in scrub minutes.

The Mavs coaching staff showed their stuff again. Make someone else beat you besides T-mac. If he doesn't dribble the ball up double team him without the ball to keep him from catching it and the Rockets never recovered. If JVG meets AJ in the playoffs the same thing will happen he'll get out coached.

I won't go that far... but he sure is earning his playing time out there.

JLIII should never see court again. He is short, not only in height, but also short sight!!! He can't play point guard.

On offense, Shane is much better than Bruce Bowen. He can post up smaller players and finish at the basket in addition to hitting 3s. Bowen is totally one-dimensional.

This game doesn't mean anything. Some of us are predictably overreacting. Come playoff time, this game won't matter one bit if/when we face the Mavs in the 2nd round or WCFs. This game can only affect our seeding.

i'm not too down about this loss. We have time to work Bonzi and Snyder into the rotation along with Yao. Still, its amazing how deep Dallas has become in a few years. Nothing would satisfy me more than ending their ring hopes :)

Well, if that is all he is going to get, he has to maximize his play to earn more minutes.

He played well tonight, and within the system and set up teamates with his passing, that is 2 games in a row in which he came in the 4th quarter and set the table for his teamates.

I was actually more impressed with his zero turnovers, if he can get more consistent with his ball handling, he will get some minutes.....

    IT'S OK

They are a dirkendouche of a team.

    WAIT TILL YAO GETS BACK.

    DIOP ON YAO!?!?

Can you say ... field day??

Yao will miss the final game between these two so... in the WCF when the Rockets sweep the Mavs Yao will throne Dampier as the 2nd best center...in the wnba.

In all fairness, a huge chunk of that Dallas payroll is tied up with Michael Finley and that POS Ericka Dampier (a 60 mill contract, sheesh)...

I don't know. I mean, I think it's fairly obvious that doubling TMac the whole game is the way to beat us. We didn't have anyone else out there that could create their own shot. I think most coaches try that, but Avery happens to have an athletic team that is committed to defense, so it worked...well.

We also missed a lot of open shots that we normally make. Perhaps we were gassed from chasing them on fast breaks all night.

What are you talking about? What better "public" relationship does JL3 have with the Rockets other than he didn't backstab them in the media by calling them liars? Is that what you call "shoe-shining"?

    Ummmmmmm, yeah.

And Luther and JLIII played baaaaaaaaaad....when it mattered. The reason it was already over was largely due to their horrid performances.
