Rox did great in this game, only lost by 9 points, which is probably the narrowest loss against the Mavs for a while.

I'll say it again. Rockets need to deal for Ray Allen and Brent Barry if they are on the table.

LOL!!!:D You got it! That's right!

That's a good way to spot true shooter. Watch how many OPEN shots that player hits on a consistent basis. And then compare that to another player on open shots.

Thus, any shots that go in when contested is just an extention of their already good shooting skill.

We struggle on open shots. It's understandable why we struggle when guarded.

this is going to sound crazy, but i think that the kind of PG the Rox need is someone like Steve Blake.

He was the PG for the Maryland Terps when he lead them to NCAA champ win in 2001-2. Knows how to be unselfish, when to pass, when to take a shot. Talented all around...too bad he's on a terrible team right now =(

The curse is with us. We could always hung tight or even beat dallas in the first half. But the THIRD quarter is killing us!!!! I agree against Dallas, Rox is its own big enemy. Guards lost their minds.

What are you talking about? "Yao cannot perform as before?" Yao was 7/10!! He only got 5 rbs thanks to our guards long jumpers.

let's just hope we don't have to play Dallas or Sacramento in the first round. Those are the two teams that would give the rockets the most trouble.

Bascially, iso type players that can't pass very well, can't shoot very well, will always struggle against the zone.

Shots taken, 20 for CM, 11 for SF, 10 for YM. What are we doing here? CM must think that he is the best player in NBA. What a joke.

Dallas played zone defense. That led to a ton of shots from the perimeter. The rockets were unable to to figure out how to beat the zone and get the ball inside so they took the shots that were available.

They did right after Yao started hitting shots in the 1st quarter. Heck...they played zone down to the last few minutes in the game even when the game was decided. I saw Finley and Scott Williams surround Yao not allowing him get the ball. Forget it if the Rockets don't get a dead-eye 3 point shooter in here. This is why guys like Steve Kerr can play in the NBA.

The reason the Rockets lost, is because they dont play smart basketball as a team. I love steve and he's my favorite player, but he needs to be traded. He just doesnt fit in with what Houston needs to do. He will still be my favorite player on another team, but in order for Houston to beat teams like Dallas, San Antonio, and Sac, the team needs a true point guard.
Moving Steve to the 2 spot isnt that answer, in order to change this teams mind-set and way of playing, Steve needs to be traded.

Dallas is still a better team than the Rockets. The game was on their home court.

This is not that bad a loss.

We just need to beat up Atlanta tomorrow.

i'm glad somebody in the world knows what they're talking about. if it weren't for the do-gooder jerry colangelo and his past coke head born again christian dyan cannon and there old geezer buddy jack ramsey there would have been no allowance of zones in the nba because there would have been no rule commitee pushing for rule changes. imagine that, a owner and an actor who have never played pro basketball spearheading a rule commitee that promotes zones in the nba. shouldnt there be a group that investigates weird crap like that. where's Wayne Dolfecino when we need him???
