Yes... but we also want a win.

If Yao is just a little bit more composed on offense (and looking to score... with his shots), we probably win this game easily.

He did, however, do what Barkley always preaches the young guys to do... if you're not scoring, go do something else. Yao decided to rebound tonight, and it helped.

sure but you must look at it as combined points between them. tmacs points and yaos are around 60 combined tonite and that is huge. the best duos usually do not avg 50 in a game.

get the damn rebound. tmac was tripping over someone who fell on him so he couldn't get there. dammit.

now we better shoot a 3 b/c a 2 will not get it done. i'm almost positive if anyone other than tmac gets it they'll shoot a two and i'll wanna shoot them.

    get tmac his 50.

i'm glad we took it out full court to waste some time. awesome.

Well, I won't settle for just the best.... I want the greatest!!!:D

I want the Hakeem 41 points, Clyde 40 points in Game 4 of 1995 first round playoffs.

I want a Tracy 50 point game, and a Yao 30 point game.

I want it all!!! (okay, enough fun for me).

On a serious note, though... have the Rockets actually won a game where their combined scores are good??? They lost the Atlanta game, the Knicks game, Sacramento (probably their best), and now tonight.

Ah well... at least it was entertaining (which is what everybody was complaining about THE MOST!)

Thank you, Rockets, for stepping up and not embarrassing Houston on national TV.

Why should we combine their points? We don't do that for Jimmy J. or Andre Barret when they don't reach their averages/what is expected.

Actually, stat-wise, Yao didn't have a bad game. But, watching the game, there is no way I would say that Yao had a good game. It was just more of the same. Bobbles around the basket, bad fouls(Though, at least a couple were just bad calls), timid offensive play.

This team doesn't have it. We used to say that the Steve/Cuttino-era Rockets didn't get it. That may have been true, but at least they had it, and, when they were around, Yao appeared to have it.

I'm not saying this is Tracy's fault(Phenominal game), but something's gotta be done...

Edit - I miss Yao from his rookie year. The skinny kid learning his way around the NBA and surprising the hell out of everybody. What happened to the Hakeemesque step fakes? I understand the double teams have had an effect on his game, but...when is he going to learn?

If we are gonna lose, I'd rather watch this losing then aa stagnant game. And if Yao got just half the calls that Dirk gets, the Rockets would have won this game in regulation. Dirk gets every tap called for him. Yao gets knocked over, slapped, hacked, everything, and they either don't call anything or they call the fouls on him. Yao committed at most 4 fouls in this game. And he endured at least 6 obvious no calls that were fouls against him. Dirk goes up for the jumper and if he is touched, the whistle blows. I just don't understand the descrepancy in the play calling. Not to take anything away from Dirk tonight, he was flat awesome. All I'm saying is if Yao got the calls Dirk gets, he would average 25 easy.

it's 60 combined because tmac scored around 50 of them. Yao had a bad game - he got his shots, he just didn't make any of them.

I see some real positive progress out of this game, may be JVG finally learned his lesson and let TMac play, this is what TMac is capable of, let him play, now go and earn yourself some ejections on behalf of Yao and maybe we'll let you stay and coach this team.

only thing that hurts about this game is we could of won it, and , consequently, it goes down as another...... loss :(

encouraged by what I saw but how long can we go on with low morale from losing games

sure tmac broke out........ but yao still struggling mightily.......

positive progress...... but eh..... dunno what good it does....

    damn.... :(

I sure hope Van Gundy sees how much better the offense runs when you give the superstars the ball and let them do their thing and quit cracking on them after every posession. No players can play offense that way. On defense, you can yell and scream to get more effort. On offense you coax the ball into the right hands and encourage them to gun it.

exactly. but it really takes time for Yao to get the same respect Dirk got from refs. Two fouls on Yao tonight were totally BS. There were many calls they didnt' even call. On the other hand, Dirk got all the breaks he needed from refs. However, I can live with this loss. Both T-mac and Yao showed they had hearet, and they wanted to win badly.

Well, if you look at it that way, T-Mac and I combined for 48 points.

    so what your saying is

    6 off rebounds

    14 total boards

    3 steals

    1 block

    2 to's

and 13 points is a bad game

that to me means the only way you say he does well is if he scores a ton of points. he did not have his off with him tonite but he played well in other areas.
