To beat Dallas, San Antonio and Phoenix we need Yao in the Paint
We need to find a guard who can defend the pick and roll.

The Jason Terry, Tony Parker, Steve Nash eat our guards lunch.

I want to crush Jason Terry's face into the parquet floor until it's FUBAR'ed.

I really, really hate this guy. Even though I'll admit he's been clutch for the Mavs, he's an arrogant, demonstative jerkoff.

Ok, I've vented and I'm better now.

We will never win till yao becomes agressive and gets more shots. Also, we need Scola to use his postup game we saw in the fiba tournament. He has an outstanding post up game as he ws schooling dwight howard and chandler

we still can't guard the quicks on the perimeter.

overall ball movement not as improved as expected under adelman.

tmac still takes way too many heat (chucks)sp.

    ...and, i hate jason terry

yao only getting 12 shots is not going to cut it. I know he was double all night but keep shooting. Especially when he is obviously on.

And please start the game with yao in the paint. Im sick of seeing him at the high post for the first few minutes of the game.

till Yao becomes aggressive? Yao was 2nd in points per minute last year, and you still think he's not aggressive enough?

He scored everytime when he's single covered, even split double team once for a massive dunk. How much more aggressive you want him to be when he doesn't have ball in his hands?

Diop is your pure hustle player. Up until this season he had zero offensive game so what he's been able to do so far has been impressive for him. He has worked very hard to improve his game. To answer your question: he's too big and strong for someone like Hayes to handle and too fast for Yao & Scola. As for offensive/defensive rebounding, that's a big weakness in the Adelman system that they'll need to address somehow. The key thing to remember here is that time is on the Rockets' side right now. Come February, if they haven't worked out these "kinks", then it will be time to panic.

Actually Yao handled Diop very well. On offense, Yao scored on him everytime except once when he was single covered by Diop. On defense, Rockets only allowed 2 offensive rebounds when Yao was on the court.

Boy I hear so many contradicting things after ever game, along with the normal dribble drabble.

Tmac takes too many shots...or is it "killer instinct?" Who ****ing knows...but it's all getting old. Rafer this, rafer that...he had one of his better games, as opposed to his last couple. Head this head that...he gets BS foul calls, assists, rebounds, doesn't turn it over in his few minutes. ahh, I can go on and on.

Simply put? We had a good game against a top tier NBA team. We KNOW we are striving to be on the Suns/Mavs/Spurs level. We are almost there. Our bench didn't play like they have the last 3 games. Simple is that. With the normal contributions from our bench, we would have won that game when Dirk and Howard went to the bench with foul trouble.

You win some, you lose some. Not that it matters to many here, but the whining and overreacting just starts to wear on some of us that have been lurking/posting for some time (even before registering). I love this team so much, but the recent influx of ignorant (not stupid) posters over the last couple of yearsmake me want to just stay away.

This ain't about what JVG would or wouldn't do because that is totally irrelevant to what's happening this season. Relax, they are still finding their way running Adelman's system and it will take them at least another month before it becomes 2nd nature to them. If they are still playing like last night come January or February, then it will be the time to panic.

Never gave a rat's ass about Bonzi so I could care less where he's drawing a paycheck. As for SF3, I have to confess that I'm not a fan either so I really didn't care one way or the other when he came back here. I was curious as to why because IMO he should have signed with the Heat but I suspect that his ego didn't want to play 3rd banana to Shaq & Wade. As for JVG not wanting another foreign player that's horseradish. JVG would have loved Scola because unlike Spanoullis, he can actually play.

Claiming Yao isn't aggressive enough *even now* is a sure sign of someone who doesn't really know anything about basketball.

Right and it's because Yao used his size on Diop when he was in the low post. Out in the high post, Diop is too fast for Yao to handle but inside there's no one the Mavs have that can handle the big fella (especially Dampier aka "The Big Stiff"). You still have to be impressed with how far Diop has come because 2 years ago, he was plain awful. My hat's off to Avery on this one.

    Come on enough is enough.

It was a close game that could have gone either. Look at the tape around the 3 minute mark Dallas was up by one and Rockets had the ball but Yao fumbled the pass which led to a Jason Terry fastbreak. It went downhill from there so stop accusing guys of not playing good cause we fought hard. End of story, Just like the Lakers game we made some mistakes near the end. RA will go over the tape and will make sure to tell everyone how to make the entry pass to Yao and get him the ball. You people are insane for burning this team so early.

Yes. I think it is still an experiment. Yao has spent four years developing a low post game. The idea of the high post was that Yao is such a good shooter that he would draw attention at the high post the way he does in the low post. But he passes more often than taking the shot in the high post and reality doesn't match the theory.

Adelman and Yao need to sit down and look at tape together so they can agree on the page they both want to be on, and then get on it.

The bobbles may just be his ineptitude at grabbing moving objects. Some kind of exercises to help that skill would be in order (if the trainers aren't already doing something).

Last year it was because of JVG's "inside-out" style with Yao in the middle to demand double team thus loosening up the perimeter.

Now with Yao more likely wandering at the top like Divac, I don't expect the 3-point shooters have last years' feast.

Yeah but most of our 3pt attempts are open looks, especially in the case of Rafer and Battier....now Battier I won't chastise him because he helps us in everything else but Rafer.......he needs to learn to shoot better.
