exactly, and tmac takes those 2. but i was just pointing that out b/c dallas had an 11pt lead w/ 2 mins left and tmac took those shots by just going up the court and jacking up 3s.

i just wanted to say though tmac shot "bad" he was shooting actually around 44%.

a prime tmac in orlando shot 45.7%. if tmac shot 45%, he's doing good b/c he takes his fair of jumpers.

BUT THE MAIN DIFFERENCE IS HE'S GOING TO THE LINE A LOT.

did i just say 10000x so far in this post that i want yao to get more touches. get your head out of the yao-hole and listen to the world.

i want yao to get more touches. and he will as we go along. so freakin relax.

and it's not like yao was outside in the high post all the itme today. HE WAS DOUBLED ALL THE DAMN TIME.

get that in your head please. tmac went to the line today despite yao staying in the post a lot.

his aggressiveness is at another level this year. even ESPN just admitted that. the dude and jalen rose said tmac is playing at a higher level this yr.

like i said, he beat hassell multiple times today WITHOUT A PICK AND ROLL. i don't think he could have done that last year. the difference b/t his quickness from this yr to last yr is HUUUGE.

he lost 15 lbs admittedly. so as we go along through the season and he loses more weight, expect more explosiveness in his part.

The reason we loss is not Yao, nor McGrady. The reason is the rest of the team which I'm sure will be our major problem during the rest of the season (just like last year) if RA does not make significant changes in the starting lineup.

We said we needed a third scorer and we don't have it yet. No one except Yao and T-Mac was in double digit while Mavs had 5 with 10+ points. We said we needed a deep bench but we played with just 9 men in rotation. Bonzi had just 16 mins and Head, a potential third scorer, with less than 14.

Last but not least, unfortunately we have to face the major fact: the season is just started but for what I saw Yao did not demonstrate any significant improvement, and worst, it looks like he doesn't fit in RA's system at all.

Right now, I think Kobe for Yao could be a good trade.

    (sorry for my english)

Yeah that's true, T-Mac does jack a bunch of 3's up when we're down a lot, but like I said...when judging players (superstars esp.) that's not the best way to defend a poor shooting night haha.

Though yeah, if you discount those jacked up shots he's around 43-44 which is cool by me. Although I do agree Yao should have gotten some more looks one way or another.

I see that, luckily the learning process from the LA game allowed us to still come out with a win.

tonight they learn from the loss, they're just 8-9 points away from beating a contender this early

I like the fact that he's going to the line a lot and is aggressive. I DON'T like the fact that he's going to the line a lot at the expense of Yao getting to the line a lot. I explained why in my previous post.

BTW, McGrady seemingly agrees with getting Yao more touches in the low post...

McGrady: "We cannot run the fast break all night. We must have Yao establish an advantage in the low post."

we're showing signs of greatness. james just struggled today. bonzi too. i don't expect that to happen very often. i think they were just too pumped up and got overerxcited.

exactly. dallas played great actually. shot 48%. executing a system they've been under for years.

we shot 42%. failed to execute an offensive system we only learned for a month.

and we BARELY lost. and our role players shot bad. so we're fine. i'm not panicking one bit.

Trust me, I knew the Mavs have had the Rockets number recently, but had no idea it was that bad. It was in the Chronicle and thought it was interesting.

Well, only if you gonna trade outside shots with Mavs. Almost everybody on that team can shoot, starting from Dirk. Rox have something Mavs don't have, an inside scorer. It's just how to take advantage of the situation.

and that's what i HAVE BEEN SAYING if you read. yao needs his 17-18 shots a game. in a game like this, he needs 20-22. but he was doubled all night. that's why adelman has to figured out a way to get yao touches better. set screens for yao in the paint w/ tmac or battier. or do somethng.

but if u saw the game, tmac went to the line a lot with yao in the game and he's in the post. he's just isoed at the top of the key away from yao.

Then blame Adelman. McGrady wants Yao in the post, Yao wants Yao in the post, You wants Yao in the post, but Adelman wants Yao on the elbows.

If Yao's in the post, when Yao isn't shooting, T-Mac will be shooting from the outside (mostly) and therefore his percentage will go down. BUT, it's not about that right now is it? It's about Yao working harder to be just as, if not less, effective this season than last season.

New coach, new system, new problems for Yao. It will take a while for Yao to get used to I have said that multiple times. It is good for Yao to be able to consistently burn the defense from 17 ft away because he is very good at shooting from there.

yea bonzi was def having an off night, same goes for james. also hayes missed a couple of really easy shots :(. i think nerves ultimately got to us this game, it was a important game to measure where we are at and it seems like half the team was deer in headlights or shots just not falling. cant wait for tomorrows game against spurs, should be fun. go rockets!

seems like one game last year and 3 games in the playoffs 2 years ago is all we have on them in the last 21 games. i can't remember where the other win came from.

either way, i'd bet that we split the season series with them this year... and take them in 7 in the conference semi's.

Believe me, I totally blame Adelman. McGrady was just ballhogging a bit too much tonight and I didn't like seeing that, but Adelman is the main problem. I never wanted Adelman hired, and really I want him fired right now.

I don't want to see the 17 foot jumper. I'd rather see him shoot a turnaround or a jump hook. Those are much better attempts at the basket.

It seems that you're right to say that Yao will have to work harder to sustain the same production. I guess Adelman was lying when he said he'd get both Yao and McGrady easy chances to score; that applied only to McGrady. I'll just have to live with that and hope Adelman adjusts his scheme. We'll see if it bring the team success in May.

We lost the game largely because our benches didn't show up while our stars played an average game (Mavs stars also played a so-so game). Bonzi, James, Scola all disappointed me.
