You don't get it, do you?

Unless the shooters and slashers did a better job of taking advantage of Yao's double teams, all the reposts in the world wouldn't have changed a thing. Bonzi going 1-7, james 4-13, Battier taking fadeaway jumpers off the dribble, Scola being all around putrid and Hayes making stupid fouls is what lost the game, not Yao or T-Mac (who kept the team in the game...he started off hot, and in 3rd got to FT line a ton when offense stagnated).

Tonight I saw an old Magic team

Tonight I saw an old Magic team

    Where is the motion offense?
    It's just a one-man's team!

and no one blames the D? yes terry was hot but james or rafer did a poor job and our big men did a poor job of going out to contest when he was in the pick and roll.

we allowed 48% shooting, which is a NO-NO on the road.

And you mention FT attempts. Yao had 4 FT's. He's averaging 4.8. This is what he averaged his rookie year. He averaged 8.6 FT's last year. His FREE THROW ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN HALVED. HE IS AN 86% FREE THROW SHOOTER. This is a DIRECT result of Adelman's bankrupt high-post system.

So Yao was patient = good, and McGrady was not patient = good? Why can't Yao jack up bad shots and have people say "he was trying to help his team win?" Come on be consistent here.

Our guards have no vision and discipline. They love the freedom of Adelman's offense a little too much.

Not sure. You might want to look for it in the Post game thread!

Also here is something to consider, Battier,Bonzi, rafer, scola and mike james combined for 11/38 shooting, if only one of these guy didn't shoot so bad tonight we would have pulled a win through. T-mac was the only player putting pressure on Dallas on the offensive side, yao looks very timid when he gets the ball. Overall a good learning experience and as much as you say t-mac played poorly, he had stellar D and it was nice to see him sprinting up and down the court (he is looking like he is in good shape).

exactly. we WANTED to go to yao. but he got doubled fast and he's not quick enough to move around. so all he had to do was pass. james/bonzi/rafer couldn't convert on yao's passes so tmac felt he had to take over.

if rafer/james/bonzi converted on yao's doubles, tmac would not take 30 shots.

Rick Alderman had never coached a real true center before. The way right now he defines Yao's role is like a role player, not a dominate center who has solid proven record of real center in the past 5 years.

he's had the same hair cut ever since he's 4 years old..

    ye li, do something

I missed thee ferocious dunk by yaozer only to see scola's lane violation

You shouldn't underestimate Diop. He is a very talented, athletic center. He will challenge you every play down low, especially for a rebound. Half his fouls are loose balls. If only he would bulk up would he be able to grab every rebound with force. The funny thing is, this is the first game the Mavs were not outrebounded. Very sad considering that Juwan is the backup center. Things should change in a couple of weeks when Dampier gets back.

    Fock, Fock, Fock...

We looked great for 3 quarters, then Jason terry happened...Plus a couple of BS fouls and here we are...

I know we can bounce back for tomorrow...It was great watching the game with the Dallas Rox fans...

    Mavs still suck...

I never wanted Adelman hired and I want him gone ASAP unless he changes his bankrupt scheme and gets Yao in the low post.

This team definitely needs more time to adapt the new coach and offense. Be patient. T-Mac needs to trust teammates more. It is a team game. Even Jodan cannot win by himself.

Why is it always our fault when we lose? I appreciate the self-responsibility factor here, but isn't it possible that Dallas played some decent defense and disrupted the Rockets' tempo?

Okay, I'll go back to acting silly.

    Wikki wakka walla.

You know the problem with this whole argument though?

T-Mac is a BETTER player then Yao. He always has and always will be. So even if I concede that T-Mac jacked up too many shots and therefore we lost, it will still be moot because you want your best player taking the most shots and live with the results.

They could try this thing called.... "reposting". It is known to get Yao a good shot, while reversing the ball was not working.

YAO GOT DOUBLED? WHAT DO U WANT HIM TO DO? FLY OVER THE DOUBLE TEAMS?

Yao was handling Diop easily on the boards before his ankle got hurt.

well repost and the perimeter guy who was shadowing off yao will double again. yao is not a quick thinker. he's just not. and avery doubled off of rafer's man all the time or one of the perimeter player, who was close to yao. so it will be a quick double team.

so what would a repost do but waste time and yao passes out again? rotate the ball and get a good shot. we missed tonight.

    yao played great.
