Overall, this is a good game. We played some ball Iv never seen in VGandy time. But,

    1. YAO should have touch the ball more than 12 times!!!
    YAO:9/12 ,75%
    Tmac:12-31, 38%
    2. Tmac is a little selfish tonight even though I can feel he has a strong will to win the game. He should have make other mates get involved.
    3. Marvs had a hot shotting night.
    4. Our defense could be better.

Yeah that too. Yao was moving pretty well, even after he turned his ankle or whatever.

Basically what happened was that McGrady had a "bad Kobe" night.

AI averages 7 assists..... he might be the biggest ballhog in the league. Just because you have a lot of assists doesn't mean you aren't hogging the ball.

He was the ONLY option in Orlando.

T_mac was in a hot streak coming into this game, he thought he could carry this team tonight, started good, trailed off at the end, I'll live with that. They're still learning this offense, BTW.

Adelman has to figure out a way to effectively stop that pick and pop offense. The Rockets lost this game off of Mike James TWO bonehead lazy passes that turned into turnovers. The momentum and crowd swung the Mavs into close out mode.

There's no time to think about what could have been. The Rockets can get revenge on the Mavs in mid november. The Spurs are up next.

The Rocket point guards have trouble with quicker point guards, and Parker is up next. Hopefully, coach A figures out how to minimize the damage.

Let's hope Bonzi remembers how he manhandled the Spurs-Kings playoff series a couple years back. Coach A needs to tell him to stop jacking up those outside shots.

You know what's funny? As homerish as the Mavs announcers were, even they were saying that Yao should have got the ball more. Anyways....

Problem is that Yao waits for the damn double team every time, instead of turning and shooting or at least making a move immediately, instead of just holding the ball waiting for the guy to wait for the double team. He did it repeatedly agianst the j*zz in the playoffs and it resulted in bad shots by guys like Luther and Rafer. Yao needs to make his move toward the basket or turn and shoot while he is 1 on 1.

It's in his blood now. Last season, his "it's on me" is still resonating in the universe.

Watch the game, when Yao post up, he only goes about 10 feet away from the basket and they double immediately when he has the ball. He didn't have a chance to get deeper position before he has to pass out. The defense would double and Yao wouldn't be able to do the power step dunk thing.

The most important thing for RA is.... firgure out how to use Yao's strength other than discovering his passing "potential".
Yao and Tmac are all established star players, it'd foolish not to use them to the spot where they can unleash 100%.

No, he wasn't on a hot streak coming in, he shot poorly in the Portland game. He didn't start very good and was just laying bricks by the end. You'll live with that b/c you'd like to see McGrady rack up the stats, but his ballhogging was a major reason why we lost today. I don't like to live with the fact that Yao only got 12 shots in a game he shot 75%.

Yao got 12 shots in 37 minutes, Tmac 31 shots in 38 minutes, James 13 shots in 25 minutes.

Time after time Yao was open for a moment and asked for ball, but he couldn't get it.When he got it, he is well covered. Our guys drove into the lane determind to shoot, even when they drew big guy away from Yao. The result is getting blocked again and again. Tmac, James, Battier, Scola and Alston all took some ill adviced shots in this game.

When the shots are falling, Rox are OK, but against good defensive teams, you can't expect those contested shots are falling all the time.

This got to change, otherwise we won't be consistent enough to fight against elite teams.

    Yao 9 - 12
    Tmac 12 - 31

It's pretty clear to me that Yao should at least take 10 more shots. Given Yao's high shooting percentage, he should take over at the end of 4th quarter. BTW Adleman didn't make any adjustment when DAL led by 10 points.

Totally agree. Mike james averaged 6 assists per game when in Toronto, but he is still a ball hog that season. It has nothing to do with the assists you grabbed but the willing to pass.

I do recall coach A say that he only cares about May. The team is still work in progress, and we should not be too worked up for one loss against Mavs.

It is entirely possible Adelman told him to wait for the double and then rotate it to the open shooter rather than immediately go for a shot.

Once again, would be ineffective as the shooter and slashers had no idea what the hell they were doing. If they executed off of Yao double teams like the beginning of the first game vs Dallas last year, it would have opened things up for Yao like it did later in that game last season.

AND ONCE AGAIN- Why haven't the Rockets been using T-Mac offball the past 2 games like they did in his effective and effcient first 2 games?
