What would happen if they repost Yao with less time on the shot clock and they doubled him again? The correct way to run the offense to post Yao, let him punish them inside, if they adjust our perimeter game have to be able to take advantage. You would only repost if it's very early in the shot clock, but due the amount of time it takes for Yao to post and us getting him the ball, the reposting really isn't an option.

We lost because we didn't have a good game from the perimeter, pure and simple.

With the high percentage Yao had in this game, I rather Yao take 10 of Tmac's shots..

MAYBE HE SHOULD BE FEEDING YAO INSTEAD?!?!?!?!?!?!!?

Yao got 12 shots. McGrady got THIRTY-ONE, and shot sub-40%. Yao was 75% from the field, what, you want him to shoot 175%?

Me too. maybe Ginobili. They are like the Peyton Manning of the NBA. Or Albert Pujols of baseball.

It's never good to have one player dominating so many possessions, especially when he obviously cools off.

A repost is ineffective if guys like Wells are jacking up bricks from 3's. Unlike last season, they were not taking the open 3's after Yao passed out of the double team, but rather using dribble penetration, which simply was not working.

I wanted to see more of Yao shooting open midrange jumpshots...no double team involved, and good way to get a high % shot with little effort.

It's one game. It's early. We are 3-1. Let's move on.

They feed Yao, the defense hones in we kick out, not enough time on the clock for a repost and we were forcing a lot of shots late in the shot clock as it is.

Mark my words. We will win the championship this year. We will go undefeated the rest of the season and sweep the Jazz, Mavericks, and Spurs on the way to sweeping the Celtics in the NBA Finals.

You know what's crazy? All the reasons you give as to why re-posting YAo wouldn't work seemed to have worked last year. Maybe it was because the shot clock was 28 seconds long last year or maybe it was because the reasons you give as to why we can't re-post Yao are wrong. I dunno.

Dallas does not have anyone that can stop Yao and yet Yao will not torch them. Yao needs to go through the damn double team and try and get some calls against thier bigs.

I hope that Coach 'A' will learn a lot from this game because
there is a lot to be learned.
a] It is a team game, we need three or four players effectivly
scoring to be a winning team.
b] With Yao Ming playing as a role player we ae not going to
make the big improvement that everyone is expecting!
c] The good thing is that it's still just the start of the season
and many adjustments can be incorporated!

d] A Playmaker Point Guard is needed!
e] Louis Scola needs to be utilized.
f] Francis needs to get fit and fit in with the rest.
h] Head is ONLy a spot up shooter and should be never
considered a major player. He can't defend anyone & should
    never handle the ball
i] Is McGrady going for the scoring title?
j] Is Coach 'A' not using the best abilities of each player
or is he trying to remould them to his system? :p

Yao was doubled everytime he had the ball, cause they could not contain him one on one, why did we not double Jason Terry after he hit a couple of shots in a row down the stretch? RA should have made that adjustment.

Rafer Alston, shot an airball toward the end; he is just point blank not a good shooter and we will have to make a change. His career percentages speak for itself. Our problem at PG does not seem to be solved. Something needs to be done. If Francis or AB is not the answer, we need to pull a trade. We need a third consistent scorer, if we are going to go deep come April.

TMAC took too many shoots but I really do not have a problem with that cause no one else other that Head could really hit anything consistently, but down the stretch, TMAC disappeared again. He was tentative and did not provide the killer instinct we have always questions.

If we dont get Home Court Advantage in the playoffs against a team like Dallas in the play offs, it will be hard to beat this team in a 7 game serious. Rockets still have a lots of changes to make. 3-1 is ok after 4 games.

Let's be fair to them. A couple of the TOs are actually passes to Yao, and them got poked away by Mavs.

Agreed. If Tmac is hot, I don't mind he take more shots, but when his shot is off, he should setup plays for Yao.

He had a good reason to not feed Yao that night. He doesn't this night, especially when it was obvious his shot was not good from the beginning. Yao was playing very well and now he will go home hungry because McGrady won't feed him. What does Yao need to do to get some respect from McGrady, shoot 175%?

The problem is that we don't have any closers. Every team needs a clutch player. The Rockets are good enough to be competitive with any team in the league. The last 4 minutes is when your stars or clutch players should run the show. Our stars are turnover prone at the end of games and we have no clutch players.

Actually I hear the "why don't we repost Yao" argument a lot last year also. I think part of the problem is that Yao do wait for the double sometimes. He needs to get the ball and make a decision as soon as possible. Otherwise, you're taking time of the clock and limiting what the offense can do after the kick out.

However, at the end of the day, Yao played a good game (along with T-Mac). It's the rest of the team that needs to pick it up.

He should be more aggreesive. Dominating players have to go through
double teams more often than passing the damn ball every time.

I am with you on this. We all knew it will take a good while for this team to start playing like RA wants them to. Being 3-1 is not bad at all.
