no the game is just faster. there are more possessions. the defense is still there for the most part. the P&R killed us at the end there

It's gonna be the same response three years running:

Watch the game and you'll see that the defense did not let him get his.

He crushes Dampier and Diop every time, they can't stop him at all. This high post stuff, really seems like it is a waste, but I guess we should give it time.

We must labour to keep our defence intact, to do without is to do without honour.

i can't freaking believe people are blaming Tmac for taking too many shots...its his job, I'd rather him take the shot then Rafer.

Luther Head has lot to learn. He is still a weakling. Huge defensive liability.

Quicker players go right by him.

Stronger players post him up all day.

To make things complicated, it is very easy to negate Luther on offense. Just don't give him an open 3.

    (1) depth of bench? nothing from MJ and Scola, Bonzi is little better with some rebs, but Bonzi/Scola had 5 TOs, half of the whole team. MJ blew 13 shots (even more than Yao) and made only 4

    (2) Yao shot 12 out of 88 (total for Rox), simply too few.... at least should play more low post when it is not fast break. Coach A may want to think some different strategies in different situations.. don't be rigid with Priceton for every play

    (3) I hate J.Terry, that little head man, destoried my nite...

But our Point Forward, Tmac, had 8 assists.

McGrady obviously had a poor game. But while his offense was out of rhythm, it was actually his mentality that I was disappointed in. At times, it just seemed like he didn't care. I noticed this especially on the defensive side.

As for Yao, I can't say much about him other than he was really the only one keeping us in this with his lights out shooting

Lastly, I'm beginning to see that Scola might not be as good as we orignally thought.

Overall, our team gave great effort though. I felt our guys really wanted to win.

However, with all this, I'm not disappointed in this loss. We lost to best team last year in their own arena.

I'd rather Yao get the repost, despite only hitting a paltry 75% from the field. It's not as scorching as Tmac's 33 on 31 shot attempts but hey, feed your bigs. Crazy, I know.

I love the way tmac is playing as a whole this year in ra offense. way more penetration an and foul-drawing then in the past. however, yao is not nearly effective as he can be. need to find a better balance, then the rest as they say is history.....

rockets, nba champions of the 2007-08 season.. and more to come

We didn't go to Yao enough but they played smart our shooters were cold and they knew it. They made Yao pass the ball out. Why did we not have more cutters to the basket why not post Scola on one the opposite block from Yao and let him crash the boards for put backs? I saw Adelman refuse to rescue them he let them make mistakes to teach them early in the season about execution I hope the Rockets can learn.

I'm not complaining, to be honest, I think we played not bad tonight, just the last few minutes stops us from a GOOD team to a GREAT team.

but I have faith, give it time, we will be there!

100% agreed. Preaching to the choir with me. They need to repost and triple post. I'm sure that Yao will have something to say to Adelman today on that subject. He's already complained that he needs to get more touches in the low post. I wouldn't be surprised to find another article on sohu tomorrow, this time with harsher language.

A loss that could have been a win. I was watching Terry scorch us and kept praying that this man would grow cold and stop being so relentless against us. Heaven did not heed my call and my strain remained and eventually the freaking Dallas Mavericks beat us yet again. From a non Rockets/Mav fans perspective, it was a very entertaining game that solidified the Dallas team as the more gelled throughout this season.

The Rockets players seem to sometimes fail to be cognizant of each other's instincts and habits. Passing incoherently that tragically result into bone headed turnovers. We played so good for that first half but reverted to a bumbling turn over machine when it mattered the most.

A cold reality check for the Rockets that will serve them as a reminder that they have a few steps to go before reaching the coveted plateau of being an elite team in the West.

A defeat mired with lessons that should be corrected by the next game; Spurs tomorrow, I expect a victory to erase the pain of this annoying defeat.

What about when the "fake Kobe" dropped 47 on Utah the other night???

And Yao isn't Shaq, he isn't a selfish ego maniac baby like Shaq.

The 21st is a game the Rockets will win because it will be fun to watch the Rockets pay back the dreaded Mavs. Oh, and the Rockets will beat the Spurs tomorrow how about that for getting over this game. :D
