Let's hope that the mavs don't put up a 125 spot like they did against the Hornets the other night! We need to put Moochie in there for a play to take out Nash's knees. j/k. :D

and while we're at it, use amaechi for an "accidental" injury on nowitzki. i mean if he's sitting on the bench, he might as well be somewhat useful

I don't think we will win. If we can win, I will be very impressed...although it's just one game, if we can beat our rivals, the Mavericks, that would be great. And we can keep our #1 ranking in the West!

I think their team has way more individual talent than us...a bunch of stars...probably larger payroll too.

I have not seen them play yet..but they have lost to okay teams and beat okay teams as well. It's still very early in the season. I hope we can win!

Our team is kinda short...their team is pretty tall...and can shoot..we need to play very hard defense and find a way to score. Everyone needs to bring their A game! TOUGH good luck rockets

This game is HUGE ... I really feel this game is 10x more important for the Rox than it is for the Mavs. The Rockets need to develop a winning attitude and winning a big game like this on the road will give them the confidence that they really need. I get the feeling that, even though they are winning, they understand they've only beaten weak teams that they could have beaten last year. A win here gives them the confidence they need to believe that they BELONG in the playoffs. A loss, and it could set the Rox back in the next stretch of the schedule with a lot of games on the road.

I hate putting so much emphasis on one game, but this game is a major fork in the road for the Rockets. Yao, Steve, Cat .... ARE YOU READY TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP!?

    GO ROCKETS!!!

average height of dallas players = Dallas 6' 6.86"
average height of houston players = Houston 6' 7.13"

I know stats lie... and this doesnt represent just the the regular rotation players...

Too much scoring power for the Dallas. The only way we can win this is if we can stop their scoring or if dallas has a bad shooting night. Also dont forget we r playing in dallas so no support for us from the fans. i think it will be a close match. Rockets is still a better team this year than the Mavs. Rockets has defense and offense. Mavs is just offense. I predecit Rocks win 86-82

Attck Mav from inside, get Dirk in foul trouble, and force them to play Bradley. Otherwise, they will leave all the gunners on the court and make this a jump shooting contest and I don't think our chance is good in that contest. Go to Yao early, either get Dirk in foul trouble, or force them to play a couple of non-gunners, and pray our jumpers fall in the hole a lot.

This will be the game that shows how disciplined we really are... will we play our game or fall into the trap of running and jacking with the Mavs? My guess is a little of both, but Jeff pulls everyone back during crunch time for the win...

    Rockets 102
    Mavs 98

The Mavs are an offensive team. They score a lot but so are their opponents. Our key thing is defense. Let Mobley, Francis, and Yao do the offense. Hopefully Francis will have better game than last night.

They lost to Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors and we have home advantage. I say we rape them 103 - 94

96-83 Mavs. Game closer than final score indicates.

Yeah that's true, but that was when the Mavs were still jelling...after the Hornets blowout, someone on the Mavs said that they were feeling more comfortable playing with each other...

I think we make too much of a deal about Dirk. Dirk is mainly a jumpshooter and Cato can bother him a little with his height. If he takes Cato off the Dribble, Yao can help. Dirk is not a great passer so I doubt he will burn us if Yao comes over to help. There is no way to stop Dirk totally unless you knock Nash out of the game.

The key of this game is not to let Nash beat us. When he gets in the lane, its all over because of that stupid floater he has and his ability to find their open jump shooters.

I would experiment with putting Cat on Nash and take our chances with Francis on Finley.

However, there is no one on their team that can cover our players either. No one on that team can cover Yao, Stevie or Cat. Walker is going to try to cover Jim Jackson and we can exploit that matchup.
