i had a bad feeling taht we were gonna lose when the game started and only tmac scored in the first half of the first quarter

although that is good for the short run, in the long run, no one player (unless they score 81 pts) can defeat a team by himself. Ergo, the rockets should have looked to distribute the ball and try to get everyone involved.

Although the mavs were losing at the beginning, it was evident that everyone was getting warm since everyone, starters and bench, contributed to the game as opposed to the Rockets and Mac.

    My conclusion is this

    We need Yao.

I live in dallas so I had to listen to the MAVS anouncers.

OMG THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BASKETBALL!! such stereotypical mavs fans.

they talked the whole game about how AMAZING rafer is.

Mavs announcer: OMG that rafer alston is such a lock down defender
announcer: ya and what a great shooter too
announcer: rafer has really helped the rockets out this season

    and THEN GET THIS.

They were complaining cause they thought deke traveled on his reverse.

Mavs anouncer: OMG THATS A TRAVEL, LOOK AT THE REPLAY, ONE... TWO STEPS!!! OBVIOUS TRAVEL, YOU CANT TAKE 2 STEPS, ONLY ONE

    LOLOLOLOL mavs suck

Didn't get to see the game, but from the looks of it, we didn't lose for a lack of scoring. We scored our usual. We lost because our D couldn't stop Dallas.

He is easily healthy enough play. He may not be able to shoot well, but he can still play defnse and rebound, which was sorely needed tonight.

the mavs annoucers are the biggest homers in the world. I have no respect for those guys, especially that guy name Greg.

The Magic Johnson style of play is more potent than the Michael Jordan style of play who lost early in his career...

I would have used a 3-2 zone.....and covered the 3 point line...something to mix it up and force them to move....by the way, not as a primary defense but throw it in to mix it up.

Heck, this is a way to get some of the bench guys in there, get the starters some rest.

Not a good game for the team. Only a good game for T_MAC. The other guys, especiallt Alston just suck.

dampier and diop are junk when yao is in there, but really i think howard is a really tough matchup for the rockets. who can guard him? battier seems a bit slow, battier can't guard nowitzki either. even with yao in the fold, the athleticism from the mavs is incerdible

I watched that game... Phoenix starts coasting, misses shots they normally do make, and Miami hits some crazy 3's to get back into it.

In the end... Phoenix STILL WINS... as they start busting the zone with dribble-penetration and jump shots.

Just as an aside, the rule book allows 1 and 1/2...not 2 steps...but they never call it that way.

I am happy with the result, never expected we win this one. This game make our coaches and bosses know what to do in market and developing new players.

Hey I have a scouting report for JVG:

The mavs have a player named dirk nowitski and josh howard, they can shoot 3s, lets not leave them WIDE open on the perimeter every single possesion.

JVGs defensive scheme gives up way to many wide open shots, which is why we always get killed by phoenix and tonights mavs.

Is Yao there? No... and the Rockets can't compare themselves to the Mavs until mid-March, or whenever Yao gets back.

Let the Mavs bust out with their awesome record, and runaway with the conference... and maybe they'll get complacent/rusty/less hungry in the playoffs and we can take advantage of that (Kinda like San Antonio did in 95).

That is amazing. You can't blame Rafer, he did some good things, but those two missed freebies were a momentum killer.
